POLICE have slammed a deadly craze where young people film each other in spinning tumble dryers. In a stunt called 'tumble riding,â someone is put in a tumble dryer to see how long it takes them to get out.Videos capturing the dangerous craze - inspired by a stunt on US show Jackass - have been taken off social networking site Bebo after complaints by parents.Police warned yesterday that, âsomeone could get killed.âTeens in Worthing, West Sussex have caused hundreds of pounds of damage by booting open dryer doors as they struggle to breathe inside the dryers. The 'Dry Riders,' a group of 13 to 15-year-olds have been sneaking into unmanned launderettes late at night.Sgt Nick Bowman of Worthing Police said teens could suffocate inside the machines. He said: âThe dryers have gas-fired heaters which suck all the air out of the machine.âIt gets incredibly hot and they have a maximum of 60 seconds to get out before the air runs out.âItâs not even funny. Itâs unbelievably dangerous and it could easily result in a fatality if it continues.â
