Croatian press have been reporting that we're in for Luka Modric as well.Wouldn't he be too similar to what we already have? Could he play left wing?

Last summer:

Arsenal wanted to buy Luka ModriÃâ¡ now too, but we stopped his transfer. At least to the winter anyway. And when the time will come Englishs will pay 25milâ⬠for him, that is certain more than anything - said the MamiÃâ¡.
Now:http://www.jutarnji.hr/sport/nogomet/clana...7,7,3,,80802.jlThey are looknig for about 45 million

Expect somersaulting Luka Modric in JanuaryEduardo Da Silva will be joined by a former team-mate at Arsenal in 2008, according to our source at Dinamo ZagrebBy Maxspeed in CroatiaIt seems as if Arsene Wenger will buy Dinamo Zagrebââ¬â¢s captain and playmaker Luka Modric, not now but in January. He is probably even better than Eduardo, a combination of Xavi, Cesc Fabregas and Pablo Aimar in style. His price tag will be about the same as Eduardoââ¬â¢s (ã10m, around ââ¬15m ââ¬â Duduââ¬â¢s wages are about ã30,000 per week) although the club have already turned down an offer of ââ¬15m from Shakhtar Donetsk. Even though the fee is the same, when Arsenal are involved, itââ¬â¢s different. If you want to see a video of why Wenger might want Modric, watch this. You might ask why Arsene Wenger is waiting until January, and that he should snap Modric up now. I have heard the reason is ââ¬Ånot to disturb the dressing room.ââ¬Â Whose, I donââ¬â¢t know. It's more probable that there was deal in hand between Dinamo and Arsenal, because Dinamoââ¬â¢s hardcore fans wouldn't take it too well. Watch this if you want some idea of why the Bad Blue Boys have this type of influence. They know that if they lose Modric, they can kiss their euro-dreams goodbye.Does that mean that this autumn is the last chance for some Arsenal midfielders? It remains to be seen.Dinamo's "motto" is: "nema predaje, nema prodaje!"(no surrender, no sell out) and Dudu was sold merely because Arsenal wanted him (PSV, West Brom and Shakhtar were all turned down). They have tried to sign Robert Kovac from Juventus and not sell anyone, but for whatever reason the offer from Arsenal for Eduardo was successful. I believe he will be our last sale this summer, but these days you can't be sure of anything except dying...
