How do You decide the track is finished?

When You're working on a track, what is it that makes You decide it's done, and this is the final version?

for me it's either:

1: every change I make is counter productive, and I end up cancelling them, at which point I decide it's done.

2: I'm sick of hearing the beat loop in my sequencer so I export, and that's it.
