Mame Biram Diouf
Newcastle have ramped up their interest in £10million-rated Holland star Luuk de Jong.According to reports in Holland, Newcastle, who are third in the Barclays Premier League win following Saturday's 2-1 victory over Everton, have watched the 21-year-old FC Twente striker on a number of occasions this season I know he looks like a scrawny little joker, but this lad is a goalscorer, has been raping the dutch league this season. Also got some tekkers about him and a nice first touch and can use his head aswell as feet. Has 9 goals in 15 games and scored for the Netherlands first team couple months ago. One of the hottest properties in the Dutch league at the moment and if Newcastle can pull this off under the noses of everyone else and he settles in fast then he will be a problem, another cultured player to add to there collection. Deffo capable of getting 15-20 goals in the prem once he settles in http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=loq4Ot4q90c

Mame Biram Diouf
FC Twente head coach Steve McClaren claims rising Dutch star Luuk de Jong is perfectly suited to the Premier League. And with the likes of Manchester United, Chelsea, Liverpool, Newcastle United and Tottenham all reportedly eyeing the 21-year-old, it will be hard for McClaren, who rates De Jong as one of the best talents he was worked with, to keep his prized asset. The Holland international has scored 32 goals this season and an equally impressive 62 goals in the last two seasons for his club. However, the club's hierarchy have warned suitors they will not consider selling their young striker for anything less than £12.5million. Former England boss McClaren said: "Luuk is an 'English style' striker, made for English football. I am just desperate to keep him one more year in Holland. But I realise that will be difficult. "Luuk is big, strong, brilliant in the air and scores goals so easily. He has every quality a top class striker needs to have for a big club." Meanwhile, Twente president Joop Munsterman admits it will be hard for the Eredivise club to keep the forward and has admitted the player wants to move to England. Munsterman said: "We want to keep Luuk. He is a vital player if we want to win the championship again next season and when we play in Europe. "We have said that we won't go lower than £12.5m as a transfer fee. We need a top price for a top player." Former Dutch international Patrick Kluivert, McClaren's No.2 at FC Twente, added: "Luuk is going to be the number one striker for Holland in the very near future. "He has everything a striker needs. "Here at FC Twente we are grooming him for a future with one of Europe's biggest clubs. "He can become a European giant."

Mame Biram Diouf
Sky Sports understand Newcastle have bid £8million (€10m) for FC Twente star Luuk de Jong. The Premier League club have long been linked with the Holland international, who went to Euro 2012 but did not play in his nation's disappointing campaign. Newcastle have now made their first approach and Sky sources understand Twente are considering the offer as boss Steve McClaren thinks about the options. The pursuit of De Jong will do little to quash reports Demba Ba is set to leave St James' Park this summer and it appears to be the case of Alan Pardew lining up replacements. It has in the past been reported Twente value De Jong at closer to £12.5m so it remains to be seen whether Newcastle are successful in their initial approach. Pardew had in January shown interest in the 21-year-old but instead decided to bring in Papiss Cisse from Freiburg. De Jong has also been linked with Tottenham, Liverpool,Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmundafter scoring 39 goals in 76 games for Twente.
