do a btecwhen you hit unithe first year will be pissbecause all the sh*t they teaching you at uni they teach in the btech
allow doing b-tec. at the end of the day. b-tecs are designed for people who couldnt get 5 A-C GCSE'S. if you are capable of doing A-Levels there is absolutely no need to do a b-tec. they should only be used a backdoor into a specific uni course if you've flopped.dont matter what it's supposed to be the "equivalent" of bottom line is how can it be equal if you never enter an exam hall and all you do is coursework.

not really depends what type of degree you want to do A level is the best for subects such as Law, English lit, Economics and Maths...If you want to do Media, Computing or Business dont waste your time doing A levels because they are totally irrelevant and dont teach you anything towards your specified subject as Btec's in these areas teach more then half of the modules on your first year of uni....also No other degree is worth doing you will make no moneyonly people who done these subjects make P from what i have seen other guys got degrees and sh*t in other subjects and earn less then me and they work full time.(retail)

but why do a media, computing or business b-tec when you can do them all at A-Level and then add 2 other real subjects as well.e.g English Literature, History & Media Studies at A-Level are A LOT better than a Media Studies B-Tec.

Could do a cross lesson, like Business and Accounting, they have crossovers that would aid you.

Ice yeh using your own footballer analogy.doing a b-tec is like going training but never actually playing a match, doing bare coursework for 3 years aint gonna teach you how to sit in exams, which you will NEED to do at uni.doing A-Levels is the same as training and playing football, while at the same time doing cross country and boxing. cross country and boxing may not seem directly relevant to you but there will be skills from both that you can takle into your football.FOr example i did a history a-level and 80% of the people in my class did politics. they fully understood everything about plebiscites and the like straight away cos they had been taught it in more detail in politics, but i had to actually learn about it from scratch.same way cos i did english, even if i knew less facts than other people i knew how to write as if i knew just as much and maybe even more than them. different subjects bring different skills that will help your "main" subject.

You dont need to be taught how to do exams. End of the day if you know what you wanna do a BTEC is the easiest route there. Why sit through all those A-levels and exams if end of the day you just wanna do say business at uni?

Lol @ people saying A Levels are better when they're taking A Levels like "psychology","P.E" and "Media Studies"Its completley dependant on what you wanna do.. For example, if you wanna be a mechanic, a btec in that subject is far more useful than a maths and english a level.. And it aint even about "what it means to your employer", its about actually having the knowledge..If you wanna be a lawyer, obviously you'd have to do A Level law as a Btec in music tech aint gonna cut it
AgreedAt the end of the day even if u do a BTEC or ALevel and planning to go to uni...when u get ur degree both are useless anyway...I did ALevels in English Lit and ICT... i should have done a BTECH in health and social care instead... at least that way i would have got my qualification AND work experience needed for the degree i wanted to do...but its all good now...ive taken some missionone year access course and then uni nex yr

I believe though that it 1 course with different modules but I don't know whether u achieve marks on the individual modules or as a whole. Lets say 4 example ur doin a BTECH in IT. Then u will also do sh*t like communication, numeracy, & maybe other sh*t. Could be wrong so don't quote me.
You're right man.Had to do:Language & commsBusiness calculationsThats what i like about it, it focuses on other skills aswell.

Funny thing is that most people doing BTEC courses won't even end up in a job remotely in the same area. So many guys doing these Music Tech and ICT courses. Music won't pay the bills and your certificate saying you can use Microsoft Office isn't going to be doing much for you either.
Wrong still, it depends on who you are.I know a few friends of mine who managed to get to their desired area of work (both a level & btec)Like Toney said just don't end up at Topman.
