You know on certain albums/mixtapes sometimes the actual (album)artist would not appear on a particular song resulting in only the guest artist to perform.for example jay-z - dear summer, but it is a song taken from Memphis Bleeks album, but only has jay-z on the track. Would you label it as: 1. Memphis feat. JayZ - dear summer or2. JayZ- Dear Summer, even though it's a track on Memphis Bleeks album

I name it as the artist who I'd have less tracks forSo with Method Man & Redman - Blackout, I'd put it as Redman cuz the Method Man song library looks big enough without that albumI know alot of people don't do this though

I'd label it asDear Summer (Performed By Jay-Z) [Produced By Just Blaze]*- Memphis BleekMy Way Home (Perfomed By Common)- Kanye West*might be produced By kanye lol.I use Wiki to get album covers, because from there it also has the correct track listing, producers, samples, year, date released, alternate covers etc.....its very good for that kind of stuff.

One thing that never makes it is the 'blend' mixtapes.E.g. TI vs Lil Wayne, D Block vs Dipset bla bla. Its just mess to me, shits aint official to me. The songs on them dont even run for the proper duration.If a DJ is huffing and puffing all over the mixtape and its official then I'll keep it. Like the Desert Storm ones, no way I'm I deleting that cos that was pure fire even with Clue ranting on it.

Yep, if it's a music video I'll label it the same way as I'll do a music file and if it's a TV program I'll label it according to it's name, season, episode and date of airing.

I just fill in everything you know about it.The other stuff you can't do anything about.I know Yoshie put's "Singles" under the album ID3 and has them all grouped together with special album art for all singles together.

yea there some tracks i jus name the album as Tracks . . . only cuz if you dont name the album u wont find it on the ipod unless u do search then it comes up . . .

Are there any guides/tips for ID3 tagging, cos i wanna get my files proper organised as i've just recently bought an ipod. Can't be having inconsistentancy in my library. lol

LOL everyone come like undercover ID3 taggers, something they wouldn't too disclose in case they get frowned on before this topic and then bang the ID3 crew massive jumped out.My way of ID3 tagging is more or less the same as Supreme. But everyones got their own way but in the end it's similar. Oh and my Genre's better be damn correct not about having HipHop, Hip-Hop & Hip Hop as seperate genres.I don't know if they're is a 'proper' way to ID3 tag but just know it's all down to personal preference and it's more than likely people that do organise their ipod libraries do so quite similarly.

Really depends on how much memory space you need. I also have a 8gb Nano, but I got tired of just picking and choosing a couple of my fav tracks from the albums I have, which I had to do make sure I didn't fill up the 8GB available too quickly. Now with the 80GB IPOD, I can pretty much just fling on the whole album instead of just a few tracks from it.

Nah, it's an Hip-Hop/Rap ting for me...One thing I can't do is bag R'n'B artists like Bobby V and Anthony Hamilton togetherIt's usually R'n'B and R'n'B/Soul...The thing about ID3 tagging is that you learn more about music because you're always looking for album covers, the year that album got released, the producer because often if say Just Blaze produced a track, it would usually come under J. Smith so then you ahve to wikipedia the song and get the name.Bang Bang ID3 Gang
