Bruv Blueprint and Black Album are possibly the most over rated albums I have ever heard ever. The production is f*cking amazing but his non rhyming broken but flow doesnt appeal to me never has never will.Reasonable Doubt you have a point and Hard Knock Life was some mixtape level ish.Not even the best rapper in New York at any point of his career enough of "king" status.Maybe my dislike for the guy is clouding my judgement but carry on with the conversation...

This is when your view became void.

When you say best rapper, do you mean best rapper technically, or best rap ARTIST because there's a huge difference...And like I said earlier, name a rapper with more than 2 universally accepted classic albums...

The most over rated rapper point blank periodhow can you make 1 good album and have so many stans?
Don't be f*cking stupid about ONE album...
Honestly..R.D. was very good. In just about every way.His second best album to me is Black AlbumThird Blueprint, the rest are so-so and not worth mentioning..I really disliked blueprints poppy sound though.....His others biggrin.gif so bad.I dont know how he actually managed to stay at the top...seriously..... a string of absolutely mediocre albums, he is one rapper who is the greatest example of someone having filler in their albums. He'd have one catchy single, then the rest would be pig sh*t.

You man are so naive...It's his general influence...The albums he's made contribute to the legend.Aswell as the albums, there's beef with Nas, the numbers, the trendsetting, the influence, the SINGLES and in addition to that, there's the timing of his ascension after Biggie died.Friggin' ell, am I the only one who sees this?

No..I wasnt talking about THE LEGEND, when I quoted him....I am merely stating his ACTUALL musical output is very very poor considering his talent/the hype he has.10 years from now people wont give a sh*t about all the other stuff, but theyll listen to his music and think he was ovverated I bet you....He has probably the poorest Talent to Output ratio of any rapper alive..As for the beef, Nas lost.

LMAO...You're constantly diminishing your credibility with every post you make...Bar the ones highlighted, NONE of the others mentioned are deemed ''classics'' in general...They be exceptional albums, but it takes more than that to be a 'classic' i.e. defining an era, impact, influence on styles etc...

I never said Scarface had no classic albums but out of the ones YOU selected, none have been regarded as universal classics. I'd put 'The Fix' before all those you've mentioned.Universally accepted doesn't mean accepted by a bunch of elitist, underground, Hip-Hop purists. It means generally across the board, people can say or at least recognise it even if they don't particularly like it. BAM, ''that album was a classic''...Again, like I said, the only albums I feel Jay-Z can say he has that have done that are Reasonable Doubt and Blueprint.

Opinions are like arseholes everyone has got oneThats what you think which is cool as people that rate Jay-Z are a majority to the people that try to undermine him like my self. Also hiphop is the under ground don't really think opinion of the mainstream means anything unless it is aimed at the mainstream. The albums I listed as you said are widley acclaimed in the under ground which was the reason why I put them up as I think underground>mainstream opinion. I see why you dont think much of them but its down to personal opinion in the end of the day.Let me just end it by saying Jay-Z isn't even top 50

Jay-Z is is hated because he doesn't do his business in a 'nigga' sense...You think he was ramping when he constantly compares himself to Jews? When it's business, I've noticed it's always Jay-Z 1st, and everything else later. When he was rolling with DeHaven, Jaz-O, Dame & Biggs, Roc-A-Fella, those projects were all group oriented. They were never set up to benefit the individual. You gotta remember that Dame & Biggs were the ones who looked after the troops. However, you also gotta remember that most of the heads who ran with Jay, made poor decisions in general when it came to their career. Most don't look at the state of music and they think it's still 2001-2003 out here...Beanie, Freeway, Peedi are f*cking out of their minds if they think they still relevant today. And with Def Jam, he did alright considering. LMAO @ people thinking that Def Jam was gonna remain a Hip-Hop label...L.A Reid is the one who runs tings over there. Def Jam is being shaped up to become the new LaFace...Because at the end of the day, with Jay-Z there, we've seen success with Ne-Yo, Rihanna, Jeezy, Rick Ross, Ludacris, Juelz...
He does business in a "nigga sense" when it suits him, thats the main problem, dudes are complaining about...Jews are very family orientated so that wouldnt make sense, if your family are the ones complaining about you. Like come on, even Kanye took sly shots at him and he RICH. So you cant say he bitter financially.'01-'03 was the height of Rocafella's success tho. What about the success of Rocafella artists??? Young Gunz, Bleek, Freeway & Beans dropped certified DUDS with poor promotion & organisation from the label.

I've noticed something interestingIn the past, it was the easy excuse to blame the record labels and executives for screwing artists overBut suddenly when Jay-Z joins a label hierarchy, suddenly the label is always completely right and it's always the artists' fault, they're either bitter or irrelevant or they're not good enough businessmenI've never heard of anyone defending poor promotion for good artists until Jay-Z became a label president.I'm not calling anyone a stan but that's an observation I thought was interesting.
