Yeah i can see Radiohead being top favourites but i think the fact that Burial is some unknown and his music is actually different whereas people have heard Radiohead for over a decade BUT the way they sold their latest album may be a factor in what wins it for themHope Burial does it though, would be a good look

I can see Burial winning actually. The Mecury's are known for leftfield decisions and picking the most unknown/ unexpected artist to win.
I said this in the other thread. Also, it would suit the media just fine to focus on Burial, especially if he wins. He could be like the Banksy of music.

he IS the Banksy of music  bookies favourite to win aswell, that would be sick if he won.although that would be (kinda) good for dubstep if burial is a mercury award winner, i think irrespective of him coming from dubstep i feel he deserves it for a few reason..1) Innovative Concept - its fresh and its an outlook nobody else has taken2) Production Quality - TOO MUCH, seriously its the most well produced piece of music ive herd in years, it sounds like the soundtrack of a movie, from every high down to every little crisp crackle3) General Effort - the tracks are conveyed so well, the proper build up an emotion and have a lot of depth to themoverall i think the untrue album was a bit of a marmite for most, but personally for me i instantly fell for it. i said kinda good for dubstep before because his music isnt really dubstep, its more like ambient experimental 2 steppy garage but i guess seeing as dubstep came from experimental garage they can be kind of linked.regardless i still regularly listen to sum tracks of this album today.large up burial.

ye its cos its generally a GOOD MUSICAL artform. the production levels just define its musical nature so well that anyone can interpret it. also it is sumin so refreshing from everything else u hear today so it catches ur ear, so to speak lol....also some tracks of this album are f*ckin SICCCCCK to smoke to.blazzin a fat spliff and gettin monged to this album>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>n i know stoners generally say that about lots of music, but this album is the one. i must of been playin sum of it in my bredrins car wen we was hot boxin, tryna show him the deal while he was lean so he would maybe get it, cos he is generally not into uk music....he ended up locking it off after 2 tracks cos it was gettin him too zoned
