You will also probably need a visa if you fall into one of the following categories (Note: this list is not exhaustive). You intend to stay longer than 90 daysYou intend to travel to the US for a reason other than business, pleasure or transitYou are conducting official government businessYou have been arrested (even if not convicted)You have a criminal recordYou have a serious, communicable disease (including HIV)You have been refused entry to the US on a previous occasionYou have been deported from the USYou have overstayed during a previous visitIf you are unsure, or if you think that your situation falls into any of the above categories, you should consult the US Embassy (see above) – you must do this well in advance of any plans to travel.
But like carpedeum, the US doesn't need to know about any UK cautions/convictions. It will probably just be an excuse for them to stop you going/send you right back.

the US doesnt need to know about any UK convictions. tell them at your own peril... if u have a felony equivalent..ur banned for 2-5yrs depending on the felony rating.
I'm debating if to declare mine or notthen I thought about getting all the way there and being sent backit's not the one really
