one guy said he worked at a homeless shelter with him and told everyone there to keep it a secret.

Not just that. Gave a random woman 15k for IVF when she told deal or no deal what she was there for and didn't get the amount she needed. Gave a random person £25k to clear their debt, leaving a cheque behind the counter when he heard the person crying over the debt when he was in a cafe. Gave all the royalties from last Christmas to Ethiopian famine relief.
