Recommended Posts

Juventus and Milan are reportedly fighting it out for ã15million-rated Lyon midfielder Tiago.Tiago, formerly of Chelsea, has signalled his intent to quit the French champions and reports in the French press claim Juve have already lodged a bid. However, Portuguese newspaper A Bola claims AC Milan are also interested as they look to bring down the average age of their squad.Tiago rejected an offer of a new contract in December.Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas said: "Juventus have asked us about Cris and Tiago."I told them they will cost ã15 million. That is the price for everyone."The midfielder rose to prominence during spells with Braga and Benfica in Portugal and won a move to Chelsea in 2004.However, after just one year at Stamford Bridge, Tiago was sold to Lyon and helped the club win two successive titles.
Sick player. Would be good signing for either of those teams.

Lyon Reveal That Barça Want TiagoOlympique Lyonnais have revealed that FC Barcelona are one of the clubs to have made an approach for defensive midfielder Tiago.1948_news.jpg The French club's president Jean-Michel Aulas stated that the Blaugrana and a number of other sides, including Juventus, had asked about the Portuguese starRelations between the two clubs are slightly frosty after Lyon reacted angrily to Barça's offer for full-back Eric Abidal recently, but maybe willing to still do business.Frank Rijkaard is keen to bring in a new defensive midfielder and has pinpointed Tiago to fill the gap that is likely to be vacated when Edmílson is sold during the summer."Clubs like Juve have made an enquiry as well FC Barcelona, who have made an offer," Aulas explained.Tiago has enjoyed two successful seasons in Ligue 1 after moving to Lyon from Chelsea in the summer of 2005.The Portuguese international only stayed for one year at Stamford Bridge after failing to become a regular during José Mourinho's first term in charge. The Lyon supremo then touched on the negotiations over Abidal and reiterated his disbelief at the proposal that had been put forward by the Catalan giants."The subject of Barça and Abidal is in neutral gear. Their offer is insignificant and slightly indecent to our club and to the player himself."
