thats a software issue i'm sure.....and i'm sure HD processing is normally done on Farms of pc's otherwise i'm sure you'll have problems with bottlenecks...i could be mistaken though.....but my bredrin who does this kind of thing has 4 pc's working together....

nas or itx board?
netgear NASbut if i run SATA II drives its faster than IDE drives which the NAS enclosure takes
if money is no object you can always go for this... biggrin.gifhttp://aberbid.com/abcatg/NAS233.htmBUT NOW for real though...You could set up a SATA II NAS for cheaper than that. Believe. :D

LMAOAnyway...I'm powering a external hd off my lappy and its ok but sometimes it need extra power so i have to plug in an extra usb provided, so i cant see 5 external hd's running well off off your pc. And what motherboard you intending use cause i dont know any with 5 eSata portsOnly thing i can think of is getting a NAS - http://www.netgear.com/Products/Storage/Ne...age/SC101T.aspx - Its got sata but dont think its sata IIedit: just realised this dont solve your problem with plugging them all in cause the nas only holds two drives anyway
