for those that dont know, this man is one of the god fathers of neo soul, his band tony toni tone had a string of hits in the late 80s / early 90s and set themselves apart by using real instruments and keeping it straight old skool in the era of flashy computerized new jack swing. he went on to form the group lucy pearl with ali shaheed muhammad from a tribe called quest and chick from en vogue. in 2002 he released the album instant vintage which is a classic imo, then a few years later ray ray........raphael saadiq is a genius producer and musician and a sick singer and basically a pioneer of nu soul and without him there would be no d'angelo no jill no musiq ya get it..... here's just a few of his hits..i beg you all bow down before one the greats...tony toni tone - just me and youtony toni tone - anniversaryd'angelo - untitled(nh)lucy pearl - dont mess with my manalicia keys - diarykelis - glowbe here ft d'angelo
