Petr Cech's season was ended last night as Chelsea's hopes of a double were dealt a savage blow by a horror accident. The giant keeper required reconstructive surgery and 50 stitches after his face was sliced open by a training ground collision with Israeli defender Tal Ben Haim.Cech will not play again this season after his face was split in half from lip to chin and required an immediate operation. And boss Avram Grant suffered another Champions League blow ahead of tonight's must-win clash at Stamford Bridge with Fenerbahce when Michael Essien limped out of training and seems set to be replaced by Paulo Ferreira.Grant admitted: "I don't feel good about it. Nobody at the club is happy."Petr has been terribly unlucky all year. It hasn't been good for him."In training he was looking great and that makes it even more unfortunate for us."Cech, who had emergency brain surgery last October after being caught by Reading's Stephen Hunt, had been set to return to the Blues starting line-up after the session at Cobham. But with just seconds left, 6ft 5in Cech and Ben Haim went for the ball and the defender's studs lacerated the keeper's lower face. The two-inch gash needed 30 stitches at the worst point, with 20 further down.
Ben Haim you f*ck*ng badman. Cech being back would have boosted Chelsea confidence. Prem here we come (Hopefully)

lmao @ Lenny. Its a shame though, Cech seems like a nice, humble guy, I remember he did some visit tign to my bredrins college...said he was safe..But yea, IMO it wont make a difference, Cudicini was, and still is, a f*ck*ng BEAST between the sticks, I'd GLADLY have him in my team.Lets nvm the barnesly match - _ -

I've met cech still hes proper quiet, Almunia is aswell met him too. Both seemed nice guys that like to keep themselves quiet and just get on with their jobs and their life. I dont get the cudicini hype anymore, everytime i see him now he's seems to do some madness in the match e.g. runnin out and missing the ball vs boro

i think this could f*ck him up proper. part of him being such a good keeper is his bravery. his lil headpiece gave him confidence that he couldnt get his head caved in again. now its been proved ineffective he could have serious mental issues
