I knew the term haters would come out but i guess there is always a hint of envy in everyone.
Most times it aint even an envy ting.. It just seems crazy, if you're smart enough to be able to save £11k between 16 and 21, you'd think you'd be smart enough to make a more worthwhile investment..
well thats the thing most people that say the things that have been said are by people themselves they MAY BE or MAY HAVE been irresponsible if they had access to that money but as they dont have that loot its easy to become a virtual financial adviser including me (im saying that for the sake of not sounding like im acting like im all that) i wont front ive blown STUPID MONEY in my life but i dont do that no more as im a grown up.most people are very practical with money that doesnt exist.
This is actually a very accurate observation.
exactly, same way you will see a man who works at mcdonalds cuss roman abramovich for buying a boat for $100m by saying "i woudl have not aspent that on a boat i woudl have ________________".......yes cuz but you work at mac d's biggrin.gif not everyone should move out of their parents house. plus treacle is asian, lol@ thinking they havent got stuff sorted out for her. calm your financial analysis down and use it for yourself
is treacle asian?
No she's not, she's mixed race.

Treacle obviously feels her Social standing is worth investing in lol.To her she cant be seen in a beat up Fiesta like certain man on here prolly have.
u could get a year 2000 a3 in good condition for 3500-4000. IMO looks better than a mini cooper and leaves you 6-7000 grand left to save towards a house or just jam with. or
Mini cooper is more a girly car tho compared to an A3 init.
As a matter of fact, I have always wanted an A3, but who wants an old one? I bought my mini at the end of 2004, so the A3 you're talking about would have been 4 years old. Not for me mate. My next car will be either a Cooper S, or an A3, but not an old one! Gotta be the new shape with the big grill, 55 reg and newer.

£11,000 is not alot of money in London in this day and age. I didn't bat an eyelid when she said she paid that for her car, sounds about right to me. But seriously what could you do with £11,000 that is really worth while?Way I see it, if you've got the money and then some, do what you want with it, especially if theres more where that came from.
are u serious?

this is what i mean by silver spoon youths.some people are really lucky their parents are wadded because you dun know if mummy and daddy dont buy your house for you or help buy your house for you, you aint going nowhere.about what could you do with 11k thats worthwhile!11k could be flipped into 15 at very least. the bottom line is, you buy a house before a car when dealing with that kinda cash. even if you aint gonna live in it. buying to let will do much more for you than a mini on your drive.there's drug dealers with range rovers sat on their mumzies drive with the same mentality as you. just they're unlucky cos when their ps disappear, mummy and daddy wont come with the re-up.the thing that smacks it is you prolly look down on them guys who buy chains and diamond earrings b4 theyve got their own house but you're living just like them but you have a safety net (the rents)

I hope this wasn't directed at me because I'm definitely not a silver spoon child. I would love to be, but I'm not.I've seen my mum graft HARD over the years and be tight with money, so I've naturally learnt how to do it too, it's just that I don't have any children/responsibilities I have to share the money with, therefore it's all mine to spend/save, throw down the toilet, do whatever I want with. I might be assuming, but it seems like the logers, carpes and cheekywun types, and the people who came on here saying their parents got them flights abroad for christmas (and possible others I have forgotten), are the people who are more comfortable financially, which is no sendage at all, and is great, I would love to have that security, but why should they be knocked for it?

buyin to let at this point in time is not an investment at all
Tis not true.
11k is nothing tho some people go on like its hard to make . . .jus save and dont go out but then again u aint got a social life . . .
That is true, the same people who say 11k is alot (+20yrs) are prob the same people who rave week in/week out, the same people who will buy something as soon as they see it without doing research which would save them quite abit...I am 19 and have spent tens of thousands on cars since I was 15/16, lived away from home for year and a half and didn't like it too much so moved back home... fact is I need to look after my mum for a little while longer and then I will think about putting that 15k down on a yard when my feet are FIRMLY on the ground - and that's not a money based decision as annually I earn more than most twice my age make in a few years - It's purely a MENTAL STATE and I am not ready to jump in the water YET...It's easy to say'You should of put that 11k towards a house'Fact is though it's nowhere near as simple as that plus the mortgage payments of around 1K a month (plus supporting yourself) are not for the feint hearted... Buying a car is just as important, f*ck I have brought TONS of banger cars, all breaking down or loosing them within 3 months of getting them... However the cars that I have spent GOOD money on have lasted me nicely...

I'm not a silver spoon youth you know. I'm what they call new money. If the £11,000 is all you have and you blow it on a car or if you want to turn it into £15,000 then thats great for the individual, they must know what they're doing. But like I said, if there is more where that came from, and I mean plenty more, then continue to surround yourself in the luxuries you can afford. Think about £11,000. That is not alot of money. For those who have lived they will know that is not alot of money. It might help a few financial situations and you might get a little bit of interest but come on, that is not a life changing amount of cash. It could buy you a one bedroom slump in some part of England maybe. I joke. Also, I make my own money, Mum and Dad have theirs. They'll treat me once in a while, but everything mentioned in my first post in this topic including 90% of everything I've bought since the age of 19 has come out my own working life wage packet. Also, I do not look down on people, who the f*ck am I to do that?! I ain't friggin blue blood, I live in Tottenham amongst them same people and jam with them on a daily. Them people who do have the same mentality as me and are still living at home with their parents or in hostels are silly in a way, but thats them get me. They must know what they're doing. A person like me does know the value or money, luxury, class, and treating ones self once in a while does not make a person 'a silver spoon youth'. Get what I'm saying?
