When he was rolling with DeHaven, Jaz-O, Dame & Biggs, Roc-A-Fella, those projects were all group oriented. They were never set up to benefit the individual.You gotta remember that Dame & Biggs were the ones who looked after the troops.However, you also gotta remember that most of the heads who ran with Jay, made poor decisions in general when it came to their career. Most don't look at the state of music and they think it's still 2001-2003 out here...Beanie, Freeway, Peedi are f*cking out of their minds if they think they still relevant today.And with Def Jam, he did alright considering. LMAO @ people thinking that Def Jam was gonna remain a Hip-Hop label...L.A Reid is the one who runs tings over there. Def Jam is being shaped up to become the new LaFace...Because at the end of the day, with Jay-Z there, we've seen success with Ne-Yo, Rihanna, Jeezy, Rick Ross, Ludacris, Juelz...
