They are refusing outside help while there people die.A real shitty government they must have there.
This is surprising that you pride yourself on knowledge of current events, and world elites, yet you dont know about the worlds most brutal dictatorship and military regime?

I aint really looked into the Burma situation in depth but know they have a military led government that are brutal. Tyranny exists in many forms. They do have it much worse there though.

Yeah, its f*ck*ng horrific there. The nation is oppressed horribly - just amongst some of the rules they have are:1. The government at any time can go to anyones house and check who is there - if you dont live there, and are there during the night, they arrest and can imprison you. In order to stay around someones, you have to apply for permission in advance.2. Groups of people in public are 'separated' by the military. Basically beaten.3. The NLD party (Aung San Su Kyi's - which won the election in 1989) supporters are imprisoned, tortured, and beaten. Aung San has been under house arrest for the last 12 years.4. You can be detained without charge or trial for 3 years."Letters from Burma: Aung San Suu Kyi", is a book I would recommend if you want to know the severity of what happens - its a collection of memoirs and entries from herself, speaking of her childhood, right through to her imprisonment, and how the country has changed, how it spends the majority of its budget on military, and how it thrives from foreign investment in oil (Mainly the French company, Total Oil). These same companies which invest and build pipelines in which the Burmese authorities force their women and children to work on, are the same companies which are funding the military regime. America and Europe, and the rest of the world pay lip service to this however. Iraq and Saddam Hussein had absolutely nothing on Burmas human rights abuses. Mass graves, denial of journalists, arrest and imprisonment on the spot. Awful sh*t.

Burma serves the interests of the West it seems and plays ball so I suppose its only right they would turn a blind eye on the situation. Its going to take something drastic over there to end the harsh military rule.

This has been getting tons of media coverage, Mr Steele is hyping, like its not top news lol fool
Not on the same level as Tsumani
No, but its getting ALOT of news coverage. Your going on like it's the last story on the news, like it gets mentioned for a minute then is off the air. When it is top news all the time now. Allow your hyping, it's rather silly.
