I don't like video trailers that don't actually have any in-game footage. Usually air them.

a creative ad that gives a message about the game >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> some ingame running around and shooting

Any top game these days that shows in game footage has either a sh*t advertising team, a low budget or is aiming for simpletons/kids

Or the clip speaks it for itself.

nah I don't favour CGI game adverts either.CGI can make ANY game look good or at least semi-decent when in reality the game is swag swag swag, e.g. the mugs who thought NFS:Undercover was gonna be good *edit* not to say CGI ads are swag cos they're not. but alot of games use it as a ploy to hype sh*t games. some CGI adverts are sick tho

but saying that so can in game adverts. anyone could make a sh*t game look good using gameplay footage as a trailer could they not ? its like saying i couldnt go and buy NFS:Undercover, record some of the impressive looking parts that would make the game look good in a trailer and cut out all the sh*t looking parts. its the same kind of thing. i see ppl saying that far cry game is sh*t and yet it looks sick in the trailer and thats ingame. its just as easy to do it with an ingame trailer, CGI just would look more impressive, and ppl 9 times out of 10 look up a game and what its like before buying it going from a half decent trailer CGI or ingame.
