Got my 360 yesterday... before i got it I was all reading up on that Red Rings stuff nutty sh*t right thereits too common of an occurrence... So far I try not to play it for too long and keep it in an open space.... GT have you tried that Towel Trick?

Basically when you get the red lights, you removed the hard drive and plug out the Xbo and wrap it in a towel for 30 or so minutes... and it apparently removes the problem

I keep mine upright... to me it appears to be more ventilated that way.. but you got that "it scratches the disc" argument.... I believe that if you want it ventilated, keep it upright... if you want your disks safe, flat

No difference in ventilation weather it's up or flat imo.Flats the safest way.Mine was upright and made some f*cked up noise. Been flat and no problems since.

ps3 has a nice intercooler fan = me not having to worry about overheating
