I've noticed something interestingIn the past, it was the easy excuse to blame the record labels and executives for screwing artists overBut suddenly when Jay-Z joins a label hierarchy, suddenly the label is always completely right and it's always the artists' fault, they're either bitter or irrelevant or they're not good enough businessmenI've never heard of anyone defending poor promotion for good artists until Jay-Z became a label president.I'm not calling anyone a stan but that's an observation I thought was interesting.

When did Jay last do a tour with Rocafella artists on the bill as support, not hype men or a guest to bring out for a song but as a actual support act, with their own set & stage??? Roc The Mic tour like '02.Jay was retired, he could have easily just stood next to HIS (Rocafella) artists for a year, put them on, then let them do them, then go back to rapping himself if he wanted too or if Def Jam required a heavy hitter album.As much as Peedi, Tru Life, Uncle Murda, Young Chris, etc are all men, they have never dropped albums yet.

yeah thats true most of the time when you hear man not rating jay-z they draw for his demenour, swagger and arrogance before his lyrics, flow or catolougue. Jay-zs up there and i like the fact that he's evolved as an artist seriously listen to hard knock life vol.1, then the dynasty then listen to american gangster its like the evolution of a GREAT rapper from raw and rugged to busines man on world tours. He might have made some (very) bad decisions at def jam but without seeing their finances couldn't really comment because like somebody mentioned Rhianna, ye-yo and them SOLD units. Interesting as well that his fellow employees ain't feeling him cause State propertys a label with a whole bag of talent but no weight, you can blame def jam/rocafella/jay-z all day long but surely its their fault because labels like Rocafella, G-unit and dipset got big off their name alone and could easily move label off the back of thier name. Jay Z for me is the third greatest (biggie then 2pac thn jay) and maybe 4th most influential rapper after 2pac, eminem (look at what he's achieved) and biggie (his flow still gets catted) and thats cming from a man who doesn't even have jay as his favourite rapper on the old rocafella (it went Beans, freeway then jay for me!).
