I HAD TO QUOTE MYSELF, I DNT THINK ITS GETTIN THROUGH TO U
And what answer would these oh so enlightened and intellectual african-americans give us?Tbh, from when you think Nigga and Nigger are 2 different things = lost. And by posting in this thread, are you not too a 'loser' trying to 'get posts' then? (Ps. Posting is what a forum is about btw)

I use it...I use it because with the people I've grown up with, with my influences, my peers, it's a fraternal thing...I doubt I'll stop, I don't WANT to stop in particular.Meh...I would I have been conditioned but there's conditioning in every sense of the word.Again, for me, it's a fraternal thing. I do believe in the 'reclaiming' aspect. But I won't use it in the presence of an older Black person out of respect but I have to tell them 'Sorry, my experiences are not your experiences.''
You'll fit right in with the Yanks next year. They're on some "revolutionary" BS that actually works backwards and have no morals. How can you reclaim something when its always gonna mean the same thing? That revolution has and will be televised. f*ck Blacks Yank and everything they stand for!I hate the word, dont even use it when rapping a song. I'll sing it along with The-Dream though."Now she run her fingers thru her hairHe tryna call her over there But she like 'Fuucck that NIGGA'"He drops it sick.
Your catcher's mitt has some proper grip still. Barry Bonds won't have a nice day with you around...Again, I just don't place as power on the word the way others do because at the end of the day, it's just a f*ck*ng word to me. Someone using a less 'offensive' word which attacks my character would 10X as potent than 'nigger'.Because even if that person used and meant it in the worst possible way, I KNOW I'm not what they've just labeled so why am I catching feelings. It's like someone going up to a woman and calling her a 'hoe' randomly. If she knows she ain't one, she'd keep it moving.
This is England, bruv, London to be specific. We dont play Baseball.Thats what I'm saying about this "2008 Revolution" wannabe open-minded attitude that I class as BS. Short-sighted at its finest. MTV and Hip Hop in particular is the worst thing to happen to Black period. Diluted Black peoples mind. If your calling yourself nigger and a potential employer knows that you people call each other nigger, what impression will he have of Black people in particular? Remember, he knows what the word means and hes not on this "Oh they're only tryna claim the word back" like you, he's laughing with his mates joking "Look at these nigga's. So foolish." But you and others like you are short-sighted and dont see it like that.To prove what I said is true, look at how many people say at work they get abuse and/ or people talking to them like Yanks. "Yo whats going down in the 'hood homie?" They think them disgraceful Black Yanks that they see on TV are a reflection of real-life.All it does it enforces negative stereotypes and as I said before the funniest thing is, you guys think your moving forward!
Listen, in business, it's best if you have family & associates ok. Now, it could be an employer, it could be a business partner but either way, s/he will not fall into the category of 'family'. S/he might not even be an associate. Now, if you think a potential employer won't work with you because s/he knows you as a Black person says the word 'nigger', then you obviously haven't had enough corporate experience. This society is driven by currency. Someone will work with you, make money with you but go home and talk about you like dirt. But at the end of the day, the money is still there & I weren't looking to be friends with that person in the 1st place. So what the f*ck do I care? Think I'm chatting sh*t? Why are man like Jay-Z, Puff etc moving with all these old ass White men but on the record, they're quick to say 'nigga'. Think when I go home to see my peoples do you think I give 2 f*ck's about Howard Brenneman as long as my paper is there? No.
We live in England, bossman. That just deads your whole post. Stop clutching onto the Devils land a.k.a. America. UK and America work very opposite ways. We have strong tradition and morals, America has neither. You say corporate experience, you have what exactly? Please remember I am older than you and been working longer than you. Plus you missed the whole point of that statement. Its not just the word nigger. But yeah like I said, reality will hit you hard if thats how you think life works. But now that urb*n aint the sh*t, you see where you guys holding us back is gonna get you. We all saw what happened to Dame Dash after Jay left. Them guys were the ones that were lucky to breakthrough because no one else understood it. They learnt from them and didnt need anyone else. Only 50 has come post that era of giving imprints (in order to exploit what they didnt understand) and made money. Think thats a coincidence? Look at most brands and things Black people consume, who controls them? Look at the presenters and writers of our music over here, what colour are they?Lemme break it in another way, if women started calling themselves whores, sluts and slappers would you respect them? Even if they are saying "Yeah we're tryna reclaim the word?"
What the f*ck do you mean stop talking about the US? You're the one who mentioned African-American's in the 1st place? And nevertheless, the principle remains the same regardless. You've worked longer than me? What an extra 2 years at the most? And where were these jobs? Not every job qualifies as corporate experience...And if women started calling themselves those things, I could respect them, disrespect them whatever, but unless I mean anything to them or vice versa, it DOESN'T MATTER.

Nah. lol.I don't know why its an issue with people tbh.Gets on my nerves because the ones who complain are normally white people that are PISSED that black people are 'allowed' to use it but they are not, shouldnt matter really. It isnt so much that it is frowned upon being used AT ALL, its that it is frowned upon in the context of "well they can use it why cant i?" which is annoying.I also have to give people a warning look when they are rapping lyrics to a song and I know the word nigga is coming up. "Im that cat by the bar toasting to the good life, you that faggot *dirty look* .....that faggot tryna hold me back right?.."They wouldt say it round me, but just to make sure..

That's the thing, there are those who DON'T...Why are you painting those who don't mind having the word around with the same brush?

I know its different.Point still remainsDIFFERENT CONTEXT = DIFFERENT REACTIONyes or no?
Depends on the recipient. If it was you, then the reaction would be - acceptance, possibly even joy.Me - phail.
EXACTLYDIFFERENT RECIPIENT = DIFFERENT CONTEXTDIFFERENT PERPETRATOR = DIFFERENT CONTEXTContext = the set of facts or circumstances that surround a situation or event. So basically what you were fighting not to say was yes.sidenote:- LOLOL @ acceptance, possibly even joy.
Ok basically i get that you feel no way to use the word but can understand that others will react differently and seem to be able to respect and understand their choice. I semi get what you are saying with the context thing, but i still can't get my head around beginning to excuse that words usage in any context except educational or as an example.
Ok boomMy brain works like thisProblem<<<<<Solution. The word nigga was not the start of this problem so the solution does not start with the word nigga.I think all the people talking strongly about using the word nigga should do something about the real problem since they feel so strongly about it. Its easy to not say nigga I dont feel like people not saying nigga is doing anything to solve the problem.Wether a man calls me nigga, blackie, jigaboo, "your type/kind" makes monkey noises or anything else of that nature don't make a difference to me no word hurts any more or less than the other they are just words after allIts the intent that gets man madLike how could man have the audacity to say 'your kind', are you takin the piss?Sometimes words aren't even neededI could walk into a shop and staff are over fake and helpful/stalking man around the shop because they don't think I earn enough money to be shopping in that particular store and I must be stealing cos I'm black?Feels the same as if someone called me a nigger because the INTENT is still the same.I just feel like people need to address the INTENT first and once we have jumped that hurdle then we can start talking about all the little flivarous things surrounding it like the word nigga.

thats the typical argument used, and its old and stupid. it isnt the start of the problem, but is the instrument USED to describe the problem.. and you black idiots that support the use of the word are supporting the use of this instrument... so infact THAT IS THE START OF THE SOLUTION. intent doesnt matter if the most widely recognised INSTRUMENT of a racial slur is trying to be 'reclaimed' by uneducated idiots.

I used them as an example because they are the ones that started the sh*t, then I brought it back to here for the rest and main part of my point. You have used them (Devils) in all points, thats where the confusion is.But anyway my original point is, those who use it are short-sighted or ignorant. One or the other if not a combination of both.

Star gang u keep mentionin ''what are we doing about it''... there have been people who fought against segregation as im sure u already know... why is it when these people die... Americans feel the need to now reclaim it and use it amongst themelves... and then have their U.K followers doing the same... it doesnt make sensewhy am i going to fight for something and cause riots... for it to be ''reclaimed'' AGAIN... makes no sensethings like ''your kind'' are rude and uncalled for just like ''nigga'' just because ignorant people still use the word or sterotype black people '(watching u in a shop) or wotever... y should u then think... ahh f*ck it... sh*t aint gna change so im just gna join them n swtich it up.. makes no sense how people are justifying it saying its slang or worst thing happen. Its like my work place... the white residents grew up in a society where it was acceptable for them to call blk people nigger and coloured... and so my work mates still get abused... is it right for me to say ''oh they have dementia so ill bly them'' or ''its just a word im not a nigger so im gna ignore''NO ... i will straight up tell dem DO NOT REFER TO ME AS A NIGGER OR COLOURED THANKYOU. Dont u think me then using that word is a bit hypocritical?
