I stopped using it. It's an offensive term no matter how it's dressed up.I've stopped with the foul language as well. It gets you nowhere in the working environment!Unless you're a pornstar. blink.gif

when i my swagger is in full effect i say it to people that are beneath me
lulz.I use it (in moderation) yeah, but I feel weary about it and sometimes uncomfortable about it, due to the impressionable people around me (urban asians) or the intelligent ones. I used to say it all the time, infront of anyone I didn't care, I remember me and my friend were in yearSeven and you know how kids are, loud as f*ck an always laughing. Anyway we were on one of them hopper buses saying it and catching 'nuff jokes when some older looking nigga scalded us, said we were behaving like damn fools and should be ashamed, whole bus was quiet. That didn't really change anything cause up to yearEleven I was using it frequently I'd say. One thing though, how do you react when non-blacks use the word, I feel bare confused and like offended, but I dunno why.Like my urban asian (MC) friend uses it and it's like he feels cause he is involved in the culture he has a bly, I dunno how to react so I just brush it off but it's one of them nuances I'm gonna have to confront him about. On the other hand two hilarious white boys (proper ones) from my class heard me singing "Big Poppa" and simaltaneously, word for word, spat a verse from "One More Chance", they didn't edit the N word out and when they said it my face changed to like this bemused look. It didn't even register with them and I started laughing cause it was so jokes and it's a sick verse. (this was today btw)I coulda made a issue afterwards but I thought, you know whats the point ? The context was fine, there was no malice behind it, so why should I get worked up about it, besides what am I gonna tell them, I can say the word cause I'm black but they can't because they're white, sh*t thats racism in itself.

Comment on my comment still I need some insight and second opinions, them negligence cases there.
I kinda understand with what you're saying...You come across as someone who doesn't give as much power to the word as others do...

I think your attitude towards the use of the word is completely the correct one.

Those who use it, don't you feel stupid sayin it in front of white people? Do you wonder what they are thinking whilst you are using it?If i was a white person who hears it being used by friends around me (black) i would personaly think 'How dumb, they get uppity about being called it by us, the original creators of it, yet they are quick to use it with one another, imbeciles'tbh.

Of course I do, the reason I don't know why I'm offended is because despite the history, my own views tell me that it is just a word, and as soon as people realise this it won't be such a thing, by saying the word all the time it does trivialise the cause of the civil rights and all the guys, black or white, who died so that a word used to degrade a people would be put to death. However to put it on some pedastal as the unsayable word while simaltaneously have it glamourised by rappers and comedians makes black people look stupid and what more makes it a taboo which people are more likely to wanna say cause of it's shock status nature. It's a case of damned if you do and damned if you don't. The English language is always changing and evolving and I'm a great admirer of it, the word nigger is despite it's history just a word. People misuse it yes, but you get that with alot of words. All depends on context. And if you wanna say non blacks cant say it then straight up no one should say it, and we all know that's not gonna happen, so there's only one other route to take. These are my views and you can say coconut, uncle Tom whatever, I don't really care, I stand by them at this present time, and the wiser I get the more the view'll change, or maybe it'll stay the same cause its the right one.

Im sorry but all the people who fought againnt segregation did so in vain. What the hell was the point? For you to then reclaim the word and use it amongst yourselves?!... tbh ANYBODY who still uses this word is stupid, disrespectful and is giving white people the oppertunity to also say it freely. How do you reclaim a derogatory term? What because u change er to a lmao? Waste.
