They (Warren and Macca) thought Haye was having trouble at the weight and thats the only reason they accepted made this fight. Saw/ heard him say Mormeck hurt him 'cause he's weak at the weight and they rubbed their hands together. Warren thought it was gonna be easy for Macca and paid the price. I know he's overly gutted
I hate to say it but all Warren's fighters get exposed in the end.Im just praying that Calzaghe is different.
lol @ the weigh in the day before when Hayes' manager laughed at Warren and said "He fell for it". Taking Warren for any crooked back street boxing promoter looking for an easy pay day.
Hit the nail on the head, Frank Warren cotton wraps his fighters so their built up to be the so called "greatest".When they finally step up, they get exposed. As scofield said, I hope this ain't the case with Calzaghe.Oh yeah, a GIF for anyone who wants it:HayevsMaccarinelli2.gif

I think the fighters he has worked with have done well (bar 1 or 2) , a loss doesn't mean you have been exposed... and Warren has done ALOT for the sport - he derserves the induction he is getting. With regards to the fight, glad I never ended up going - I would of been pissedP.S Calzaghe has already prooved himself to be a great, whether he wins or looses against old Bernie happy.gif

I cant consider Calzaghe an all time great. He may be a better fighter than a lot of the ATG's but he still never proved himself. He beat Eubank which was his best career win. Gave a phenomenol beating to Lacy although Im now starting to think he wasnt the fighter a lot of people said he was. Another great win for him was against Kessler. Thats 2 great wins in a career. Credit given for the fact he was at one point one of the most avoided fighters and beat a lot of promising contenders but he hasnt accomplished enough great wins for me.

But even if he does beat Hopkins it wouldnt be Hopkins at the best stage of his (Hopkins') career. Likewise if he goes on to fight Roy Jones, we all know Roy Jones aint the same fighter he was. Its easy to think that after dodging the big fights, he's now taking the big fights at times he knows the fighters are past there best?

The same thing that has been said for Mayweather and just about every other fighter... It's not just about who he fights, it's about how he fights.

The same hasnt been said for Mayweather. Hes consistently beaten the top guys. The only guys left for him are Cotto and Williams. Hes cleaned pretty much everyone else out. Calzaghe has clearly failed to fight enough great fighters in his 10 year reign. Whether his fault or not the fact remains he never proved himself against great prime fighters.Otherwise Sven Ottke would be considered p4p #1 of all time.

When did they duck Calzaghe? When they refused to fight Calzaghe wouldn't it have been because they would have had nothing to gain at the time? Wouldnt this whole "fight at home or no fight at all" approach which has been adopted for the majority of Calzaghe's fights have played a part too?
