innit.. imagine working hard all your life so you eventually get a great job and get paid a lot and then the government wants to take 50% of your paycheque...thats bullshit.. do they only tax 50% of the pay that is over 150k.. or is it so the a man is getting paid 150 grand a year is getting taxed at 50% so he really gets 75k a year and a guy getting paid 149 grand a year is in the 40% tax bracket and ends up with more money?

So the gov are introducing a scheme to allow us to trade in cars over 10 years old if we buy a new one, getting £2000 back. Cars over 10 years old will now be worth in excess of the 200-300 they would get second hand - so now there is a market created for old bangers?or have i got this wrong

As I understand it's 50% every pound earned over 40ish grand for people earning over 150 grandper annum.But I could be mistaken.

really? i guess it doesn't make that much difference because if you get paid over 38 grand (i think) they tax 40 or 45% of your pay anyway, so what's 5%.. still annoying if that's you though

In a sense, they are going to push high earners out of this country and they will take their fortune to a less taxing country. Businesses will find that the government here are making too many demands and are seeking to regulate/control the market and this will scare off any entrepreneur. Basically, Labour have landed this country with 700 billion debt and now hope to reclaim it.Their only hope lays in people like me. Those that have been neglected and run down with little to no opportunity and those that got bumped for housing and any chance to climb the ladder.Good luck!
