glad Obertan has sparked a bit of interest.some num nuts on other boards were already saying he was going to be another Tosic.hope he can continue at the same level and hopefully get a good run out in the carling cup or something.might even have a small chance @ the first team with Valencia and Nani being soo hit and miss.Josh King looks a very good prospect, kinda crazy how his form has just sky rocketed over the past months.Macheda deserves a better shot @ the first team imo. he should be on the bench every game to replace Berbs when needs be. i reckon that would be a better way to blood him in, rather then throwing him on from the start when he hasn't played in x amount of games. we need a striker like him, no fancy flicks outside of the box, he just gets it out of his feets and bangs./word on the interwebs is that Possebon is due back in Jan, loan spell hasnt gone to well, fell out with the coach etc etc.

arrr possebon.. havent even checked for him in time *checks for possebon*anyway gd news

GABRIEL OBERTAN has finally launched his Manchester United career, and could be in line for a shock senior debut on Saturday.France Under-21 winger Obertan gave a sparkling 45-minute display for the reserves in midweek to prove he is over a back problem that has kept him out since his £3million move from Bordeaux. Now Obertan could be on the bench for the visit of Bolton to Old Trafford and is likely to be in the squad for next week’s Champions League trip to CSKA Moscow.Sir Alex Ferguson predicted last month that Obertan, 20, will have a big impact. He said: “He is very quick, can play both sides or through the middle and brings versatility to us. We expect big things from him.”Daily Express | Sport | Footballjb8521 is offline Report Post Reply With Quote

oh yeah.. pogba played there other day still, tryna find the highlights i saw of the game but couldnt... brief match report

The big team news was the inclusion of Paul Pogba for a competitive debut. The summer signing from Le Havre finally received clearance to play from FIFA in midweek, and while he enjoyed a brief runout in a behind-closed-doors friendly on Tuesday, this was the first chance for United fans to see the much-hyped midfielder in action. He partnered the ever-present Ryan Tunnicliffe in the centre of the park, with Larnell Cole dropping to the bench and Etzaz Hussain unfortunately sidelined with a shoulder injury. It’s no real exaggeration to say that within ten minutes it was apparent just why United were so keen to bring Pogba on board (and why Le Havre were so keen to keep hold of him) – his physique, posture and running style immediately elicited obvious but unavoidable comparisons with Patrick Vieira, while – perhaps surprisingly for someone described as a defender/defensive midfielder – his ability on the ball really stood out. Even with opposition players around him he rarely seemed in danger of losing the football, showing terrific composure and plenty of skill. An eye for a pass was also very soon in evidence, crisp short passing complimented by elegantly-sprayed longer deliveries, not to mention a couple of brilliantly incisive through-balls which deserved better results than they brought. And when not in possession, the resemblance to Vieira came to mind again with an uncanny ability to stick out an almost telescopic leg and win the ball back. The 16 year-old’s talent was glaringly obvious and his impact immediate, the early signs suggesting that all the legal hassle surrounding his transfer has been very much worth it.The young Frenchman was the focus of attention, but it wasn’t just a one-man show as United took the game to Crewe in the early stages. Tunnicliffe in particular dovetailed excellently with the new recruit while Ajose looked threatening every time he recieved the ball out on the left flank. The football was excellent at times, but the final pass or shot was just lacking, with Keane’s natural tendency to drop deep often leaving the Reds without a genuine frontman.
edit - could only find a tiny tiny 44sec clip *still looking*

Llajic looks a decent dribbler, he'll be a good back up for Nani but I think he's in the same mould as Wilshire, although Jack looks to have a better first touch, technique and end product also Jack can get stuck in - he has English Spirit which money cant buy

forgot about this topic!he played in a friendly against Clyde last week, and played against Blackburn midweek, if anyone didnt know, can read full match reports here http://www.manutd.com/default.sps?pagegid=...1503&page=2http://manunitedyouth.wordpress.com/Clyde was a 4-0 victory, Eikrem scored, Rafa scored a well struck shot along with Brady. Obertan assisted 2 and yet again showed his quality which proves that he will be knocking on the door when fit, i can just imagine him linking up with Berba and Waz so effortlesslyBlackburn was a 3-0 victory, Obertan completed his first 90 minutes in a red shirt impressing again, him and De Laet aka as 'take it past 4 players then pass De Laet' terrorised the right flank, King started.. did well but should of scored, Eikrem scored ANOTHER freekick, similar to hes one at Sunderland (been hearing hes about to be offered a new 4 year contract for 6k), Tosic had an excellent game and scored too.but ye, Obertan should be ready soon, hes shown the potential.. now its up to him, theres talk of Hargreaves and Pogba appearing in the next reserve game, will keep u lot postedlol @ not getting excited for a United reserve game nowadays, better footie than the first team, top of the leagueOle Ole Ole>>>>>>

The Carling Cup's reputation for launching United careers will continue on Tuesday night when Gabriel Obertan makes his long-awaited Reds debut. The Frenchman's arrival at the club was announced on 8 July but he has had to wait until the final week of October to clock up his first senior appearance. This follows three games in the reserves, including an impressive 45-minute bow against Oldham Athletic.Sir Alex Ferguson confirmed to ManUtd.com on Monday, "He’ll play tomorrow against Barnsley, it’s a good start for him."Obertan came to United with a back problem but after several months of careful treatment at Carrington, he's ready to stake a claim in the first team, possibly on the left flank."We're taking our time with him because we want him back at 100 per cent," said Sir Alex in a previous interview with us. "Gabriel told us he'd been playing with a back injury for a year and a half (in France) and no-one thought about getting a scan done."We expect big things from him. At 16 he was one of Europe's outstanding young talents."He's very quick and he can play both sides or through the middle so he brings a real versatility to us."United fans not fortunate enough to be going to Oakwell can follow Obertan's debut on ManUtd.com with our live text and radio commentary from 19:45 GMT Tuesday.
