ain read the thread

but as a black person, specially at work u have to very careful not to offend white people with ur appearance

add to that, u dont want people tryin to put their hand in ur hair, or makin it a topic of conversation or people describin u as the guy with the afro

altho i think u could have a small neat one, shaped up always

mmm mmm

this is ur hair in its natural state tbh, people shouldnt be put off by it it, they might well be but they shouldnt be

i think about it with my locs, how some of the interviewees will respond to me, so far they have been pretty receptive, im sensitive to these particular things, if i sensed any form of intolerance to my natural appearance and i knew i was abiding by the stated dress code, i would not work there

i always either tie it back, or put a few slides in to keep it off my face

because i've noticed a different response when its all over my face on a wild flex

Guest M12 Part 2

guy i know works as a car salesman

no facial hair, peircings or tattoos allowed

:/

although im all for this freedom of expression sh*t its common sense.

Would you buy a car off someone with Gold Teeth and bare tatts. Certain positions you have to look like an average joe or people wont take you seriously or you will lose your company money.

had my hair in a 'fro at work a couple times - not out of choice - for one reason or another couldn't get it braided.

them folk were taking pictures like say they were visiting the zoo.

touching it, using it as a pillow, trying to put things in it (one chick was shooting staples, couldn't even feel it, fml),

and the questions....don't get me started on the stupid questions!?!

Got trims as soon as uni was done and a real job came a-knocking.

If you work in a place with a predominantly white crew, its just not worth the hassle (no race-war).

*edit - but chicks digg'd it*

*edit 2 not that they don't now  *
