Guest Yilmaz
BTW, I think the general point yr trying to make is that there aren't enough positive role models in the media for young girls these days, am I right? If that is the case, I agree with you. However, I don't think the media should be the place for people to get their positive role models from. That place is the home, and the family unit.QFT.tbh imo m12 is talking about chicks in an urban environment. as this is what the 'role models' he stated are in bar paris u man arent in that environment so wouldnt know ppl who look up to these ppl but either way theres a indie/white equivalent role model whose jus as badI've worked with young people, and tbh they're not into this sh*t at all. However it's the kinda chicks I see when I've been out to "urban" raves and sh*t. Them kinda girls make me sick. Girls wh love off Nicki Minaj and all them dumb hip hop hoes. Gets me vex stil. Not in my lifetime, agreed.Further back however girls wouldnt dare look up to a half dressed, bald headed bisexual.tbh ur first post u completely made up. u dont actually know wot ur talking about at the moment it jus sounded good in ur headQFT. Kaygee should just be quiet in threads like this. Stick to makeup fam.

KayGee
Yea on the subject matter, your just trying to be smart and slate me because its funny or something.I was replying to someone else (who is quite obviously eating out ur backside btw) and you felt to jump in and say something worthless. If you wanna talk about the subject of the thread then go ahead we can talk.. if u wanna just moan about me on a personal level.. well.. thats just quite sad. The scan of the average urban facebook shows the kind of foolishness we're dealing with. Thank god I don't have to pick a wife from any of them.
KayGee
No.When im talking about in the past im not thinking specific people, i mean in general thats the type of woman these girls would look up to. In 2010 we are not pushed to achieve but we do have these women like Amber Rose, Nicki Minaj etc etc who are seen as successful and sexy with a great life. The young girls of today dont wanna work hard and be a success they just wanna earn money and get attention left right and centre. There may be thousands of role models out there but we dont seen them, these girls are gonna follow what is current and what is cool. So yea not in my lifetime has there been many stand out role models in the media, a real powerful successful woman. Feel free to share a few as you know thousands. Feel free to share a few as you know thousands. It depends how you define "real, powerful woman". Also please note, I didn't refer to the word "media" which carries the assumption that role models have to be famous or a celebrity of some sort. AND I didn't say I KNEW thousands. Some of my female friends are great role models for instance. Why? Because they're smart (proven) and they're successful (if you consider entering top professions as successful, which I do). And they have ambition, other than taking their clothes off or appearing in some d*ckhead's rap video. How Amber Rose and Nicki Minaj are "successful" is beyond me. They are good looking sex objects, nothing more. I don't respect Nicki Minaj's rap ability, and I don't respect Amber Rose's bald head and the fact she hooked up with Kanye. Whether you agree as to whether it's one of the most important or least important is irrelevant. There are many people and schools of thought that will say when its all said and done.Nikki Minaj's Bank balance / property portfolio or net worth is far greater than yours and for that reason she is more successful than you.Agreed? Nope.Nobody worth their salt judges success by money. It's all about supply and demand. For what Amber Rose is (a very beautiful women who happened to date Kanye West) her demand is high, because women who want to be like her will buy into the brand.I expected a smarter comment from you still. Guest Yilmaz
i just wanted to see if you were intentionally ignoring money tbh.If you had mentioned an industry where money/profit defines success, i.e. banking, then yeah it would have been a worthy argument. For the people Nicki Minaj is affiliated with i.e. Weezy, money will be abdundant for her. Doesn't mean she's particularly good at what she does.Same with other rappers. Lloyd Banks got money because of affiliation with 50. If he came out on his own, he'd be another mixtape rapper, and he largely is.Hip hop is, like many things nowadays, one of those industries where talent and money do not necessarily correlate. And as far as pure rapping talent goes, Nicki Minaj is a good example of that. However, what (I guess) she can do, is appeal to the masses. Some people do not care for mass appeal. Is the Wykeham Professor of Logic successful or not? His salary is only around 60k per annum.
Michel Kane
Nicki Minaj isn't some any rapper, let's calm it a lil'.She's genuinely talented, but her image precedes her talents.Which is a given, considering the industry she's in & genre she reps.So yes, she is successful. 1

Should be pretty easy tbh, cos I have heard some decent stuff said about her.NB: Most of my vitriol was focused towards Amber Rose actually, of whose talent I'm certain no-one could convince me of. Guest Lens
How the OP should have looked If you ask most females who they look up/rate in 2010, the majority of answers will be similar to Amber Rose, Kim Kardashian, Paris Hilton etc etc.Lets break down these 3 femalesAmber Rose was a stripper who rose to fame by getting doggied by Kanye West, Kim Kardashian daugher of sucessful lawyer Robert Kardashian. She rose to fame by f*ck*ng Ray J on camera and then getting smashed by Reggie Bush. Then theres Paris Hilton who came into the public eye by releasing a sextape of herself. (Its a nice story that the sex tape leaked and then she decided she might as well make some money off it and starting selling it, but i aint buying that. If she was really on it she coulda gone court and got some HENCH payout against anyone distributing that.Is basically prostituting yourself to / off the back of the most high profile male you can find the best way to make a living for yourself? and the amount of attention these chicks get as well, when all they are is glorified groupies/slores.I suppose Amber Rose's hustle especially has to be rated, because shes slightly built herself a brand with her barl head, fashion sense and bisexualnessBut are females of the world doomed, especially as this is what young girls are looking up to? Its a completely different era from when young girls would say i wanna be like Beyonce, because at least she had a talent. What can you look at Kim K and say she actually does? Apart from touch clubs and give shines to black men.I fear for the youth of tommorrow.however, do continue
