What criteria does it go by?

Its so easy to get spawn trapped in the Cave if your team has only A flag on Village (especially if your team is retarded). Didn't know you could nade A from B flag, I'll keep that in mind.

Certain flags just ain't worth capping, C on hardhat for one. The A & B combo is deadly. Allows you to control the centre of the map with ease

The spawn trapping that can happen on mission is disgusting, when that happens I switch to my stealth class and just run along the left side and go around and cap C.

Certain games are so much more easier depending on where you spawn when the game starts

Yep that Cave spawn is quite dumb. Even if you are being dominated, you will still spawn inside the cave (as long as none of your team-mates are in there).

I swear, from the day the game was out, we always spawn on the same side of the map. I don't ever remember spawning near B on Dome, or C on Arkaden, or C on Underground; always the same part. Weird.

Not sure on the algorithm they use for "balance", although I guess theres something to be said for it because whenever we don't have a full team, we constantly get teamed with nut jobs who don't cap flags yet still go negative.
