Just use common sense innit

Smacked bottom is fine

Kicking ur kid down the stairs isn't

Obviously u try other things first like talking but if that doesn't work then u have to take it up a level

Going on like say ur gonna write ur kids personality or some sh*t lol u could have a proper little devil on ur hands

Bullshit

That's like saying you can't write off any punishment because it doesn't agree with my morals

'You can't write off stoning cuz it doesn't agree with your morals, different cultures have different ways of dealing with things'

Nah f*ck that noise

There's not a definitive right way but there sure as f*ck is a wrong way

If you're not going to argue within reason then ill treat you like E.A.S.E

Clearly stoning is not an acceptable form of parenting

When the child dies you lose IMO

Dunno if you agree but yh

I wasn't talking about stoning as a form of parenting, obviously, I was using it as an example of your ridiculous point that because there is no rulebook for morality that people are allowed to do heinous things in the name of respecting difference

You're the one who started making infantile insults and personal comments, so don't act like you're the bigger man here cuz you're not at all

Every point you've made has been wildly stupid and TBH I'm disappointed cuz I thought you knew better, being a somewhat educated man

@JLOVELY

I think in certain rare moments of intensity a smack on the hand or round the ear is forgivable, but shouldn't be used as a regular form of parenting

Of course, and the common denominator in both instances is that you have done something wrong and you're in trouble, and fear in that instance is the appropriate response

Same as when you got in trouble at school and you'd be afraid, or if you f*ck up at work and you are afraid

It's natural

Basically

Do you respect someone that hits you? That bullies you? That uses their physical superiority to teach you a lesson as opposed to actually getting off their arse, using their brain and ACTUALLY teaching you a lesson?

You man can call me a p*ssy and keep your f*ck*ng belt scars innit, who's really losing out

I understand all that but why did your stomach drop if your dad never really used to beat you?

Just wondering.

I don't think I want my children to be scared of me tbh, I'd rather be an example they could follow, don't want fear to be part of that relationship if I can help it.

I remember going to my white don Barney's house in Primary school.

Soon as I land his dad was flinging sums at me all over the place, "What's this?" "What's that?"

Left a HUGE impression on me because Barney woulda ate every man in the class when it was a Maths/Science ting yeah?

I never saw anything remotely like it when I was at my black friends homes, I remember thinking even then that engaging your children has a massive impact towards their behaviour and understanding of the world.

Most of the really rude kids I knew were quite thick if I'm being honest.

It's not about wanting to hurt them it's about disaplining them

don't need to hit a child to teach them right from wrong, not at all.

i remember the beatings my mum used to give me and when i think about it now it almost seems psychotic. me as a small child does something "wrong" (when i probably didn't understand that whatever i did was a problem) and all of a sudden i'm getting slapped in the face and then getting told not to behave like a girl when i start crying. just seems so...i dunno. doesn't seem like discipline, just like my mum would lose her temper and take it out on me/my brother cos we couldn't defend ourselves

if my kid did something "wrong" i would explain why they shouldn't do that, and how it can upset other people or whatever, so that they learn not to repeat their behaviour. also the idea of calmly handing out beatings to small children to "teach them not to act reckless" is f*ck*ng insane imo

The idea of it is the same as Pavlov's conditioning theory.

But yes trying to condition a child through beats and not intelligence is bound to fail imo.

But if the parent doesn't have the intelligence themselves to understand that what can you do?

Maybe parental courses should be mandatory when a woman gets pregnant?

Yeah I can straight up understand (not condone) how a man bounces on the kid.

Think of one of them one-night stands you have had or drawn from a club somewhere, imagine if you got her pregnant?

Lol

It takes a very responsable person to want that for the rest of their life

Much easier to just duck out, then come back around 15 when the youte is ripe for the plucking

Is it Gunner that's having trouble with his babymoms right now.

But that is a woman who he was in a relationship with for years.

Imagine now having a child with a girl you don't even know like that, morals are all over the place, no standards, what hope is there for your child?

Anything you try and teach the child will be undone as soon as they leave you etc...

There really needs to be a law which protects men in situations like this.
