The Curse Posted June 9, 2007 Report Share Posted June 9, 2007 I've heard of people getting jobs through gumtree...but no one personal to me.I'm not sure if I've applied to a job through gumtree, because believe me i've applied to baaaare places and agencies and honestly they've all been WASTE! especially when it comes to looking for work in the Creative field.But that's just my personal opinion....Handle, Spring, Crystal Blend, Monster, Reed....you name it, I had it. Reed pissed me off the most, being one of the biggest consultancy I was expecting good things, but they were very unprofessional. The consultant who was assigned to me went AWOL after about 3 weeks....no one from Reed called me to even say they would refer me to someone else..I had to chase them to find out why they wasnt keeping in contact. All they could say was the new person taking over fulltime recruitment is on annual leave and will give me a call when she gets back.....this was back in March, I'm still waiting for the call Anyway BUN! These job agencies.....It's been a long time coming, but I started my new job this week and the fact I sourced and applied to it without the help from agencies and the like has made me even happier a true feeling of accomplishment. The CV gets turned into a paperball and straight into the bin.. Only when they gurl is choong thas when somone will have the decency to give them the head office number or they try draw the gurl thru her details on her Cv.Applying directly online to the recruitment office of the job, phoning up, is the easiest. Too many question would derive from that, so we just took em. If the person was serious enough, they would call back and enquire about their application.
