just because asians and jews etc are not fallin over themselves to learn bout other backgrounds doesnt mean that is a benchmark to say mickey kane SHOULDNTits what he wants to do
which is fine like i said, while i point out that those cultures remain strong because they have not been watered down, which is why they keep things in house, something that translates into the economic sense. you'll scarcely find an indian buying from an african shop, but he wont think twice about opening up an african one. profiting from your culture... isnt thats whats happened in africa the last 600+ years.
But we could say the same about yourself.How you are using us to get your education. In the UK and in America. For you to make money.What is it? tit for tat?

Why don't we just agree with you for the sake of the topic...Listen.People are different, you have wankers in every race.You praise a colour so hard and end up dissapointed because of the people that let it down.When you stop praising people for colour, it is then that you realise, Good people are rewared with praise and bad people do not ruin this greatness.

Black history month is needed but also seems samey every year however it reaches new ears too. Some of it can sound like we invented this, they invented that, but it is better to know than not to know. I don't think it needs to be taught in schools, something that can be passed down. I think slavery gonna get talked about for a month, as if slavery defines us (i'm mixed still). I'm more interested in Jamaican history (post slavery) than all black history, coz Africa is a big place and it ain't possible that my ancestors were everywhere and everyone in Africa. Also Latin-Caribbean like Costa Rica, Dominican republic I also wanna know more about, coz they are our neighbours.The award winning documentary "Life & debt" is on Youtube a good look if you ain't seen it yet...

In these times were everyone thinks we live in an equal society, everyone thinking they are English and people losing their Blackness compared to the 80s when we had riots and dem ting, theres no way that can be depended on.I mean how many people in here were taught about Black history by the older gen.? I know I teach a lot of my peers and these are the future parents. The ones without knowledge cannot teach the yute dem

I used to.But now I'm becoming more enlightened to the fact that it's inherently classist.
i think theres a fine line between the two, and that its both. but obviously u dont feel as much of an impact if you're well off and an ethnic minority.

i dont...whys black history month gotta be related 2 white peeps bein racist isnt it about black history?whens white history month thats what i wana know cos there are 2 many white people that dont realise that theres no such fing as bein full english.....its like bein white an sayin ur native american...plain faces all round!!

because thats what a huge part of what black history was!Anyways, did you not sit in school and learn about world war 2 etc etc. Anglo saxons, romans, greeks, british empire?History should be History, at the end of the day i dont think their should be a "black history month" per say, just the schools system needs to incorporate more world history in to the syllabus.

Not really. I am just ambiguous.I like to be open minded.I dont really have an opinion, I just like to oppose people and argue their transparent views.

i wouldnt say i have a problem with it as such, its just like someone said , history is history , i dont see the need to label it with a colour .its like 1xtra being named home of ' black music ' , you dont see any other station being named ' home of white music ' and im sure if there was a station with the slogan ' home of white music' , there would be several complaintswhy label things with a colour ?
