Dimitar Berbatov looks certain to leave Tottenham in the summer after his agent claimed talks over a new contract have collapsed. The Bulgarian international striker still has two years left on his current deal with an option for another two years, but his agent, Emil Dantchev, says negotiations have stalled over an extension.Dantchev says he is meeting Spurs again this week, but a new agreement is unlikely as he is looking to move Berbatov to a club who are playing in the Champions League next season. He said: "His future will be decided in the next couple of months. We have twice given up talks about Berbatov's new contract and this is due to the fact that Tottenham are unwilling to fix Berbatov's transfer price."He is 27-years old and he needs to win trophies. It is time he was transferred to a club that regularly plays in the Champions League. There are seven to eight clubs in Europe interested and we know them well."It will come as a massive blow to Spurs manager Juande Ramos, who was confident he had convinced the striker to stay after the club won the Carling Cup.But Tottenham's inconsistent league form and second-round exit from the UEFA Cup has made him have a change of heart. Berbatov admitted on Bulgarian television that he is desperate to play in the Champions League and is worried he is running out of time. However, Spurs denied there has been any problem with contract talks. A spokesman said: "Dimitar still has two years on his contract with an option for another two years and is on one of the best packages at the club."Berbatov has been linked with a number of clubs in recent months including Manchester United, Barcelona and AC Milan. Manchester City are keen and can offer the company of fellow Bulgarians Martin Petrov and Valeri Bojinov - but not Champions League football.

Spurs young gun Tomas set to leave to gain experience next seasonupdated at 11:39am on 17th April 2008Tomas Pekhart has impressed in Tottenham's reservesTottenham's Czech striker Tomas Pekhart is likely to leave the club on loan in order to gain first-team experience before returning to White Hart Lane. The 18-year-old, who has yet to make a top level appearance for Spurs, has been in excellent form for the reserves this season and is highly-rated by manager Juande Ramos.Despite being only 18 he has already been an instant hit for the Czech Republic Under 21s and scored five goals in his first five games.Pekhart was linked with a loan move away from the club last year but then coach Martin Jol convinced the player it would be more beneficial if he stayed to learn his trade at the Lane for at least another year. The striker had wanted to go out on loan then and next season he may finally get his chance.
i want to see him on the bench for us next season tbhbut its probably for the better if hes guna go somewhere where he'll get a full season in a first team

This will be dragged out all summer. Dont expect any of this shite to end anytime soon.To be honest i wont be surprised to see him lining up in a Spurs shirt come our fist game of next season in August, with all this transfer sh*t still going on up until August 31st when he is FINALLY transferred. Levy & Co. will hold clubs to ransom over his fee whether that c*nt Danchev likes it or not.

Hmmmm....Nice try, but im sure i said what you are referring to a year ago, when people were saying he will not be with us for season 07/08. Add to that you convieniently shortened what i said and clearly it seems you didnt get the gist of what i was saying AT THE TIME. Fast forward to the now n/a, would be a start.Oh well, try again i guess.

If he went now I woudlnt be as pissed as much as before tbh. Say we got an adequate replacement, obviously not gonna be on the same levels as him ability wise but someone who can f*ckin score goals more often than not, and not sulk every 5 mins I would be happy to see him leave for a club like A.C or whatever. He come like any Vishka Vishkovski and the Amazing Dancing Bear more time. Does my head in

Juande Ramos could look at changing the Tottenham captaincy next season depending on Ledley King's progress returning from his knee injury.93477a1ba7e6ff8d227dcdd1edbbb518.jpgKing was skipper at Wembley for the Carling Cup victory in February, one of 10 games he will play this campaign, and lifted the trophy with Robbie Keane, who has taken the armband when the first-choice captain has been unavailable.Spurs head coach Ramos has appeared to have an unconventional view of who leads the side out - he dropped Paul Robinson this season then made him skipper on his first game back.King has been recovering from surgery last summer and last week admitted he does not know when he will be able to play two games in a week again, which may be a factor if Ramos decides to change his skipper."We'll have to see what state he is in next season," said the Spaniard. "We're going to have to wait for the diagnosis of the doctors."We'll have to wait and see if he is here next season. We don't know what the squad is going to be like, and we'll make that decision then."He added: "I know perfectly well what the situation is with Ledley's injury but that kind of information, only the doctors can give you."Ramos plans to look at all aspects of the club this summer, with some of the squad expected to leave as the new boss plans for his first full campaign.Spurs are determined, though, to keep hold of Dimitar Berbatov, the Bulgaria striker who has been tipped to impress in the Champions League.Ramos added: "Right now we have him with us at the moment and we intend to enjoy having him here to the maximum."We're delighted to have him here and as far as the future is concerned that is a matter for the club."Meanwhile, Spurs players may have been talking about performing for their futures but most of Ramos' assessments have been completed. He said: "After five or six months here I know the squad really well and what they are capable of."I'm not going to discover now anything new about a group of players I have been with for a long time and know perfectly well." http://www.teamtalk.com/football/story/0,1...3436936,00.htmlIf he decides to give it to someone else who do you think should have it? Personally I think it should be Woody, despite him only being here for a lil while I reckon hes got all the attributes needed to be a good captain for us.

Ledley will play 75% of our games next season. He will still be our club captain and Robbie will still be vice. It's fine how it is. The Ledley rumours were knocked on the head by the man himself, the media are just trying to cause sh*t by continually asking Ramos about a subject which the club and Ledley had confronted, and what i had hoped ended any speculation on him retiring/only playing once in 3 games.IF, i am wrong though, it should go to Robbie as captain as he is one of the only few who actually bleeds Spurs in our ranks at the moment with vice going to probably Woodgate. Because there is no one else really.

Ramos has a habit of taking Keane off though thats why I reckon should it be stripped from Ledley, it should go to someone whos gonna be more of a permanent name on the team sheet i.e Woody. Having said that though, he might end up being injured for time or on and off aswell so then yeah Robbie might just be the right option.

Tottenham's New Captain Announces HimselfThe answer's Woodgate. I'll be honest, Robbie Keane is a star, but I've kindda reached a point in my support of this club whereby I'm looking for a little bit more than pointy shouty finger wagging at linesmen. The self indulgent anorak hurling of the other week didn't appall me, it bored me. I think I said at the time all it served to do was give the other lot a giggle at our expense. I'm looking for a captain who's prepared to Captain before, during and after disaster. So as M*A*S*H's Radar used to say... Now hear this... "We massively contributed to our own downfall," "We didn't defend well at all, not just the back four but the team in general. You rely a lot on your midfielders as well if they play three up front with one in the hole. You defend as a team and when you are not doing that, you are going to get beaten.""I don't blame them for leaving early - I wouldn't have stayed and watched that, would you?" Step forward and step up Jonathan Woodgate. This, my friends is the mindset we are after. A man in line with the contained rage of Gus and in line with all of the 'you sold me a ticket AND THEN STOLE FROM ME comments that have swamped not only this blog but countless other Tottenham forums all over the Net since the Toon Fiasco.Vote Woodgate.
