I swear down, on all legal radio stations bare white djs are playing music such as RnB, Rap, garage, reggae etc etc.Now, these musics have been watered down differently.Also, like that thing about semtex saying bashys tunes too black, but yet he plays black mans music all the time and obviously took influence from them.NOW, if black radio stations only had black people playing music and running it, do you think our music would be big???It wouldn't be toned down and I reckon that it would be A LOT LESS popular still.

There's a difference between dancing in a club to bashment, and actually downloading non-collie budz type riddims to listen at your own leisure. This hasn't happened in the mainstream yet.

People wanting to make it in "BLACK" music (especially kids wanting to rap etc) don't seem to realise that there are loads of people working to make sure these artists you see on TV are getting their money, taking care of all the stuff that will slow down musicians. The record business is in the hands of some serious business people! For UK black music to thrive, it needs smart people (not necessarily black, but people who KNOW) to start setting up labels, and having offices full of people working to make it work.Until then.... Black music over here is pissed, i cant wait for the day UK artists can live of their sales within Europe alone.

Seriously, don't take this as a ANTI WHITE thread, its not mean't for that.I'm highlighting the fact that black music, the popular styles, will never be true.There are a few styles that are, but there hardly is anymore.Its like people love off white djs but there are no black djs in this country that do hiphop or rnb or grime that are as big as the top white djs in their genre.Its f*cked.

for those doing rnb and pop, thats not their fault. its the way the industry looks at them.they sill use the 'elvis approach'.. i.e. getting someone white who can sing black music well. they probably feel that the market is that stupid to not go out and buy good music regardless of color, so prefer to play safe and continue to get someone who looks like majority of the country's color. still, if leona lewis sat there thinking that she woudlnt be where she is today, so talent has to come out of hiding from 'trying to keep it real' and get out there.as for HH/grime.. a whole diffnt level of bullshit.

I t will not get watered down 2 a big extent, maybe a few more Sean Pauls etc, But bashment is Jamaican music, they dont make it for UK or USA. They wont water it down for us (uk/white UK)Obviously the sean pauls etc they have 2 get paid, so they dilute, which is exceptible, but they still know where their fans are at.

c/s. Its still made for those that live it and enjoy listening to it. When I say live I'm not necessarily talkin about badness but like you have HH culture you have reggae culture.And to those that say that Sean Paul has diluted, he was never hardcore and is still making the same sort of songs he would have made without the fame. He appears on all the riddims that Yard DJs use and has his same lane that he had with Deport Dem and Hot Gal with VegasEle, has been watered down to an extent. That 5-0 song was not something he would have done. You could give the same arguement about Beenie with commercial releases
