It will take notebook hard drives.Probably a cheaper option than going for a full 160GB or even 120GB from sony.

What is the sh*t about having to copy ps3 games to the hdd before playing in order to reduce the loading times.I would appreciate some insight before buying a ps3 because boy a 40GB hdd will not last long if that is the case. The 60GB has been discontinued yes? Will these 120-160GB be exactly the same as the 40GB versions in terms of (non) backwards compatibility and the number of USB ports. If so then I will just buy the 40GB version and stick my own hard-drive in.

Sorry i seem to be wrong there wont be a 120gb in the Uk. But like someone said it will probably be cheaper to just get the 40gb and update the hard drive for to a 120gb for like £50.

Sony Computer Entertainment Europe has confirmed it has no plans to introduce a 120GB PlayStation 3 console into the UK.Online rumours on gaming blog Ars Technica suggested a 120GB PS3 - complete with DualShock 3 controller - will be released in North America. However, Sony was quick to quash rumours of a UK release after a spokesman from the firm told GamesIndustry: "We do not currently have any plans to release a 120GB PlayStation 3 in the UK."Sony has previously said it would release a PS3 with a larger hard drive, should consumers demand it, to take advantage of downloadable content from the PlayStation Network.
