Sinister Posted January 29, 2008 Report Share Posted January 29, 2008 Apparently, they're discontinuing the 60GB and 80GB versions because of backwards compatibility.They also want people with the smaller HDD to go out and buy games.It's still unofficial about whether the bigger HDD PS3s will come out in the future. Bacardi_Up Posted January 29, 2008 Report Share Posted January 29, 2008 What is the sh*t about having to copy ps3 games to the hdd before playing in order to reduce the loading times.I would appreciate some insight before buying a ps3 because boy a 40GB hdd will not last long if that is the case.The 60GB has been discontinued yes? Will these 120-160GB be exactly the same as the 40GB versions in terms of (non) backwards compatibility and the number of USB ports.If so then I will just buy the 40GB version and stick my own hard-drive in. But like someone said it will probably be cheaper to just get the 40gb and update the hard drive for to a 120gb for like £50.
