Dizzee and Wiley

My opinion is that i don't see anyone from the grime scene having the same impact that Wiley and Dizzie's had on the UK, which i think hasn't been that much of an impact in the UK charts. And i'm not trying to knock anyone down, but a lot of people need to realise is that we live in a country where urban music isn't popular, people ain't getting out of their beds to buy urban music.. their getting out of bed to buy 'The Kooks' , 'Arctic Monkeys' and ect. In my eyes the only way i see anyone from the grime scene and UK Hip Hop scene having the same impact as Dizzie and Wiley is if they make a particular track that is a chart song or something that compliments other styles of music.
It's just wot is popular at the mo, ppl will soon lose interest and move onto something else.i don't think u can be a mainstream success in Grime because it's too uncompromising, that wearing my rolex just sounds like a one hit wonder, like cha cha slide kinda party record and it aint even a grime tune.

It doesn't mean anything for "black music" per se, because black musicians have been making hits for years in the UK...I'm a bit disappointed however, that the tune does not really represent grime, and I believe deep down Wiley knows this. He's basically vocalled a popular electro beat. Bless Beats should take as much praise.Dizzee is on another plane to Wiley still, but hopefully Wiley can use this push to promote REAL GRIME to the mainstream. However, I really doubt that the content of grime will go down well and will just end up the topic of chat shows about black people and gun crime, or even worse being the subject of ridicule on topical quizzes like 8 out of 10 cats.
Okay the sooner we all do a simple SWOT analysis of grime the sooner we can all move onStrengths - Some decent bars from time to timeWeaknesses - Ahem..Threats - Every musical genre everOpportunities - Jay-Z headlined Glasston-berry innit? Must mean rap is on the rise in the UK!!!!
LOL.This guy cracks me up.

Shows me that this country isn't built to sell rap music. Both have to do inoffensive, dull house records to succeed.
lol @ Wiley making rap music. If Wiley had come up in Queens tryna rap like that man woulda been laughed out the rap game. But yh, the majority of Britain's population is white, therefore they ain't gonna buy into music they can't relate to such as grime on a long-term basis.

Don't care if they both get #1...They had to compromise TOO much to get there. That's why So Solid>>>>>>>>Wiley & Dizzee
Thats what the f*ck I'm talking about. The way these young utes look up to Wiley and Dizz but never give So Solid props disgusts me. They need to know who opened the f*ck*ng door. Them man were talking about shottin', bunnin', cussin ninja this, ninja that, threatning, using bare slang words, but had the f*ck*ng flashiest videos of any artist in Uk, on TOTP, 3 top 10s and won a Brit against proper artists, not no specially made urban award. Now thats what the f*ck I'm talking about. Well done to them, but in reality f*ck what Diz and Wil have done. Them man aint done sh*t for UK urban scene until they surpass So Solids achievements. Dont even bring in violence or their second album 'cah them man got boyed. They opened the door (and closed it unintentially)

Rapping is an artform of rhymed words delivered over a beat. I didn't say he makes hip hop did I? Smart arse. And when So Solid went platinum with They Don't Know, I assume it was just black people purchasing?Have a proper think about things innit.

entertainment such as music/film/television even soaps can be and are largely used as a form of escapism.i dnt wanna wake up at 3pm, take a sh*t, eat breakfast, come on net, watch porn then turn on the TV n see someone do the exact same thingor hear someone sing about the same thing.but not everyone wants to hear about guns n drugs n hoes, its all down to ur taste/perception of life n goals i guess, way i see it.i dnt even kno y i like grime or hip hop, all i can say is the hype more or less, the way a certain tune can jus amke u while out, but im not like that in real lifeso thats a form of escapism, i guessive completely lost the point of what im sayin n readin it back is jus confusin me even more.brb ill more to it when i can think
