It gives people of the Western world a way to understand the average muslim in referrence to extremists. Imagine if all of a sudden everyone thought all Christians were like the KKK. I'd be pretty f*cked off (ignoring the fact that I'm black). Imagine being persecuted, ridiculed, hated and discriminated against because people think you are like a group of people that you yourself hate.Really opened my eyes to be honest. Guest Batman Posted August 28, 2008 Report Share Posted August 28, 2008 No the point of the analagy isSeeing islamic extremist as the representation of modern-day Islam is akin to seeing the Klu Klux Klan as the representation of modern christians.They will have a crazed muslim person on TV with a hook on his hand talking about expoloding the national express and present it as if he speaks for the whole of the middle east and that that is the general mindstate of most muslim people.BUT..The extremist is to the Islamic people, what the KKK are to christian people, the KKK claim to be christian, but for OBVIOUS reasons are not looked on as such by most Christians and CERTAINLY do not speak for them.Tee same with the fundamentalists & Muslim people.
