i aint read the replies yet but if i wanted to seriously become a muslim and my mum was a devout Christian i would at least wait till im out of HER house. I think thats ridiculous and extremely closed-minded. I would like to think if I chose a religion which isnt the same as my parents or should I say my dads they wouldn't feel a way.

Closed minded of me?Yes on his mums/my mums but thats what this whole discussion is about, how he can get her to come round to the idea alie?How many muslim parents would be cool with their son/daughter becoming Christian?Most deeply religous ppl will feel away if their child didnt choose the same religion as them.

Closed minded of me?Yes on his mums/my mums but thats what this whole discussion is about, how he can get her to come round to the idea alie?How many muslim parents would be cool with their son/daughter becoming Christian?Most deeply religous ppl will feel away if their child didnt choose the same religion as them.

Close-minded of peoples parents. From what I observe most people aint even religious anyway. I can understand if he was raised in a proper religious family and then decided to convert though.

boy thats a hard one do you reckon she went to the church to speak to the pastor and for him/her to talk to you and thats where she is now?I know if that was certain bredrins mums of mine who are christian they would get kicked out of the house if they told their mumsy they switched religion so tread carefully i would of waited a bit longer til i told her i know it is something that was eatting away at you but now you have opened up a new can of worms?would your mum go on f'ed up like cook certain food just to spite you?here you about the bettering yourself ting i was asking alot of question myself over the past 18 months i went church was not doing nothing for me stared reading the quran but it was not what i was looking for I found self beleif and righteous and concious thought made me feel better in my life and it got rid of the bad sprits around mei see islam has helped you because you have even said you have become even more productive person which is a good thinggood luck to you and the path you set out for life

I'm astounded by some of the replies. We live in a society that lacks respect of faiths, cultures, races etc. Everythings just brushed under the carpet but the problem is still there, which is a shame.Everyone wants to add their tuppence worth (and here's mine)... It looks like he has thought about it long and hard and that's the decision he's made.Some of the 'disowning', 'failed' and 'throw you out' comments are uncalled for. He obviously feels bad for causing his mum pain but is he not allowed to be content in life? 'Low making it worse.Also if the tables were turned and a Muslim gave up his/her faith and their family disowned them certain people would be like 'How could their fam do that?' and 'It's a disgrace, such an an extremist religion'.I commend you for having the strength convert to Islam, but just remember religion's for life not just for a year or something.I wish I had the strength to be able to find god and pray, I really think it can make people content.
