But WTF is bootrom? I got my 3GS in March last year and it's already unlocked to all networks so can I jailbreak the bludclart ting or not?

Tethered is when you have to connect your phone to a computer everytime it turns off.

Untethered obv. means that you can turn your phone off & on at will.

If its not jailbroken at the moment, and u can out any sim in its factory unlcked (bit obvious but said it just to re-iterate)
