It didnt used to be an uncivilised thing to do...ask for a cigarette....indeed in most decent european countries where people are more polite to each other, chat alot and generally socialise with people that are around them it is very common to ask another smoker for a cigarette if you do not have one (ie; two strangers at a bus stop/cafe/park) these strangers will make conversation and enjoy each others company until they part to continue on their mission.....in the country we live in there is no such polite or friendly behaviour to strangers so maybe thats why some people are so tight as not to give a tramp a cigarette, i have friends who have said this....'i paid for them why should i give them out'...'people always poncing off you'....well really does it matter? does a 20p cancer stick mean that much to you that when in a country where people have to bring up real courage (real or dutch) to break through a massive social barrier just to ask you for a cigarette you say no? Or not even no? You lie? Last one? Lol Britain is so f*cked its beyond belief.......If you dont believe in that way of thinking how about youre actually physically adding a bit more damage to their body surely that works?PS; I am only a social smoker and always buy my own cigarettes as a fiver every now and then isnt too bad and always offer to those I am with at the time but then thats only cos im not English
you don't say?

LOLPS I don't smoke but if I did smoke I would always buy my own cigarettes and would expect any1 else who wanted to enjoy the luxury of smoking to do the same. I would share with friends at best. If I was walking down the street and a chocaholic stranger asked me for a spare Fredo because they saw me eating one... imagine.

Offering fags to people youre with is a lot different to giving one to a stranger uve never met. I will always give fags to my mates but if next man arksks me for one you think im gunna give him one? I probably would give one to a tramp but not some random passer by (and i bet you wouldnt either)P.S. The whole unfriendly thing is a lot bigger in london than the rest of the country. if you go up north people are quite pleasent to eachotherlol @ 'im not english'
