A man flings himself from the balcony of the Romanian parliament today in protest at austerity cuts.

Adrian Sobaru, a television engineer, jumped during a debate on a motion of no-confidence. As he leaped he shouted: “You've pierced us. You've killed our children's future. Freedom.”

He shouted “Freedom” — a call from Romania's 1989 revolution — as paramedics carried him away. He was not seriously hurt.

Romania, which is celebrating the 21st anniversary of its freedom uprising, has cut public sector wages by a quarter.

Prime minister Emil Boc called Mr Sobaru's fall “a tragedy that shocked me” and appealed for calm “in these tough times”.

morocco is stable, the monarchy is popular, algeria has a democratically elected government so no problem there, as u got further east then yea maybe... libya, egypt etc... but theres a danger that the current israel issue may lead to islamist governments being elected, then u get a whole bunch of irans.
