f*ck knows im reading on google about the processors

360 has a 3.2 GHz PowerPC Tri-Core Xenon processor

and the ps3 has a 3.2 GHz Cell Broadband Engine with 1 PPE & 7 SPEs which is some next structure people have written essays on

but according to wikipedia intels core 2 duo processors didnt appear in desktops till 2006 maybe core duo was the year before

so they might have been pretty advanced at the time they were released

i guess a comparison could be to opimise a game for the most powerful gaming pc out there and compare it to current ps3 and 360 games

but no one really optimises games for pcs so thats not gonna happen

Forget Blu ray and any optical drives, the next generation games will exploit the whole dlc capabilities

nt everyone has a broadband connection though

and if the hardware fails, u gotta download them ALL over again

they should make downloading a major part of it, but not the only method to get games

streaming games would be nuts though, u buy dnt ned to download as its in the cloud, then just play as normal, go to ur boys yard, sign in and play FIFA if he aint got it so u dnt have to carry it around, then build on that with film/tv and music streaming as is being done now

In 5 years time broadband connections would have significantly improved and your average speeds would be sufficent to stream movies or play on demand games.

Cloud servers will eliminate the need for a player having to re-download if they change consoles or experience hardware failure.

mini extra games/small levels that earn rewards or something

dnt think i explained that right

buy a game, then when u do that u can get a free app on your phone, so on ur way to school/work u can complete lil levels thatll add to your score in the game, MS already has xbox live on phones (Fruit Ninja DON right here)

i dunno if it sounds dumb, bt I think that would be OK, or complete mini challenges to get DLC or something, so the game can be completed in many ways

DirectX is a hardware feature the current consoles use dx9 level hardware and they cant use a higher version like unless they upgrade the hardware so the developers have no choice but to use dx9 as that's the best the current hardware can do.

As for unreal engine that has support for dx9/10/11 but since the consoles can only do dx9 there no point adding proper support for dx10/11

Not to say DX9 is that bad, cos end of the day its up to devlpers and artists, The Witcher 2 is a very sick looking game even better that Crysis 2.

But till the HW changes then gonna have to wait
