If the FA upped the money on offer for winning the FA cup it would breathe life into it. 

 

If UEFA upped the money for winning the Europa league teams would take that more seriously and it'd breathe life into it. 

those are the only things that'll resurrect these competition in this country as importance is directly linked to Money and vice versa.

 

When Wenger said 4th is better than a trophy he was just saying what everyone else knew already, it makes no sense financially for a club to go all out in the Europa League and only reach the semi's 

 

The FA cup was raped when the FA asked United to go and represent the country in Brazil in 2000 and ruled that we couldn't also play in the FA cup that season despite being holders and United agreed to go. Now you have teams who have won fuck all in their history treating the FA cup like a glorified LDV Vans trophy campaign. 

 

semi's being at Wembley is also stupid,

the lowered importance of the cup isn't even being offset by considerate ticket pricing policies from some clubs in order to spark an interest from "the fans of tomorrow"

 

the winners of the FA cup got 1.8 million pounds last year. that = no financial incentive for the club to care.

we have a new generation of football fan who doesn't know about or cares not about the history of the competition so the interest will continue to drop from a fans perspective.

How long till the FA cup is a complete after thought and is treated like the league cup or even worse.

I know it's all about money but G*d damn it bring back the f*cking UEFA Cup and Cup Winners Cup.

 

Europa League will always be sh*t especially when teams who drop out the CL enter the 3rd round. LONG.
