I hired some girl as my new assistant (you may remember me moaning about interviewing) but I HATE her. She is stuck up, she constantly wants reassurance, she sucks up to everyone and she works very hard (making me look lazy in comparison!)Do you reckon if I'm mean enough to her she'll leave?!Or, when it come to doing her apprasial I could just give her a sh*t one and she might get sacked?Hummm.....

Its not challenging enough! I could do this standing on my head, drinking a supermalt AND posting on VIP2. I do want a new job but I onyl have 2 years experience. The next step for me would be a Group Marketing Manager but I dont have the experience. I'm looking though Gray Fox.

I gave her a specific instruction which one to order, how many etc. About an hour later she comes back to me with loads of 'ideas for stuff' which she has printed off.I just looked at her - I knew what I wanted, all she had to do was order it. She wasted an hour and didnt do what I asked!

I dont want her to use inititive. If I ask her to do something I expect her to do it, not search for alternatives. I'm civil to her. She must guess she annoys me.

I see, well if she is not doing the job being asked of her then that is a suitable enough reason to get her fired.Taking the initiative is fine when the time is right but she has to do what she has been asked to do.The brown-nosing is something I would expect and even understand, as long as she isn't being blatantly obvious as a brown noser but being sociable and easy going with your work colleagues is a very good idea for the future development of ones career.
