Spanish kids play and train on this...laconchilde17_001.jpgDutch kids play and train on this..Perfect grass. Flat as f*ck. EVERY kid, not just the pro or semi pro teams.grass2.jpgEnglish kids play on...bramhall-home.jpgI have witnessed these all first hand.Is this the reason why our players lack so much in the technical ability department?I think it is. I was thinking about when i played in those countries and thought about how nice the pitches were to play on.

"Kick and rush!""Get it up there early!""Its a game of probability""Stick the big man up front"Instead of"Pass and move""Retain possesion""Give and go""Play the ball through"
Basically, and its nothing to do with pitches.'Cause like it was said Brazlian kids play on dirt.

But the reason they look to smash it long is because they cant play it on the floor in those shitty conditions.Today, the pitch was shocking but Croatias superior technical ability was evident even on a dodgy pitch.

The point im making is that None of these other countries, play on large boggy pitches in which they almost HAVE to hoof the ball in order to even consider finding a team mate. The pitches in brazil are flat, or if they play in the street they are small. No Long ball.Holland they can play football with ease on the nice pitches. Same with Spain. What Im saying is that its not only the academy kids that get to play on this stuff in Europe...EVERY kid plays on a decent surface. Wont get that in England.

Someone answer me this....Brazilian kids do play on dirt, which is FLAT and on which they cannot hit the long ball.So my point is VERY valid.
no come on be real, the ball bounces all over the place onthem streets, they haven't got flat roads in a lot of Brazil. England has concrete pitches which are FLAT and astro turf. The mentalities wrong not the pitch. If england went Carrick, Huddlestone, Rooney, Beckham and J.Cole as midfield 5 with King, rio, Neville and Cole they would have a team capable of playing the ball around but it would still never be anywhere near as effective as the latins, so england should stick to their strengths.Holland world cup countSpain world cup countPortugul world cup count all 0. England were'nt good enough so went out. People need to stop looking for excuses because Ferguson, Wenger, Mourinho even Benitez would have got this group of players through qualifying with 2 games to spare alie?

mp* sed it perfectlyplus emphasis in this country at a young age even is based on winning (which is why we have such bad losers) rather than developing players who at the age when it matters will be able to perform at the highest level technically and physically

To add to points already made, England dont play to their strengths, fast, powerful football.English teams fair well in Europe because they play fast and hard football, England TRY to keep the ball and play nicely but they cant
