(AP) - Michael Vick was sentenced to 23 months in prison Monday for his role in a dogfighting conspiracy that involved gambling and killing pit bulls.The suspended Atlanta Falcons quarterback could have been sentenced up to five years by U.S. District Judge Henry E. Hudson. Vick, who turned himself in Nov. 19 in anticipation of his sentence, was wearing a black-and-white striped prison suit.Vick pleaded guilty in August, admitting he bankrolled the "Bad Newz Kennels" dogfighting operation and helped kill six to eight dogs. He has been held at a jail in Warsaw, Va., since he voluntarily began serving his sentence.Vick was suspended without pay by the NFL and lost all his lucrative endorsement deals.Two of Vick's co-defendants (the snitchs) were sentenced Nov. 30. Purnell Peace of Virginia Beach got 18 months, Quanis Phillips of Atlanta 21 months. Another co-defendant, Tony Taylor, will be sentenced Friday.SMFH

Too long, but his own damn fault. Once you leave the 'hood' & get your millions, leave that behaviour & lifestyle behind. Thats what you hire advisers for, to keep yourself from going back. He should've realized that he's no longer "Michael Vick around the way".

he was already suspended from the nfl after it all happened and lost his endorsements etc, so i doubt anyone would take him back, especially after at least a year out of playing football

I dont know what to think about this.I really didn't expect him too get any time at all, just a hefty fine - because they need him paying his taxes.But on the other hand I'm pleased he did, but 24months is ridiculously short for what he did (IMO anyway).

24 months is kinda harsh. The judges are proberly trying to set and example.But why the f*ck is he doing it in the first place, bet he was being called a sell out and sh*t by people he knew from where he grew up and just got caught up going back to the hood. Should of stayed away.Pissed hes out of the nfl tho, vick was sick to watch at his best.
