Because of Benitez' stupid rotation policyCrouch scored like 17 goals in the season where he was playing almost every gameHe needs a run of games to score and Rafa doesnt allow itThe team changes every week, how can the players adapt with each others play.. Nonsense as usual. Their is no substitute for quality in this age of football. We always gamble on players who could turn into quality players which has ultimately been our downfall for the past 15 years. Too many promising players have been false hopes.Man Utd have been winning trophies consistently for that period of time because 7 times out of 10 they buy a player who is proven, 2 times out of 10 they buy a hugely promising youngster and the other time they take a gamble. Chelsea did exactly the same as soon as they had the funds available to them.Arsenal approached it differently and developed a youth scheme that picks up talented youngsters before their on most teams radars and developing them into players suitable for the Arsenal styel of play. The only problem with this is that their is always gonna be frustrating periods while some of the youngsters develop into the big time players so they can't perform as consistently as Man Utd or Chelsea who throw money at anything that looks like a decent player.In todays market a promising player costs you quite a lot of money so you might as well stump up the extra cash and buy a player who isn't so much of a gamble.

You more or less reinforced what I and every other Liverpool fan has said about us needing a quality wide player seen as you named 5 midfielders and they all play the same position. £60 million in Manchester Utd's and Chelsea's team covers the front 2 and if your somehow suggesting that we don't need another striker you must be implying that Kuyt and Voronin are good enough so its pointless me replying cos your obviously chatting sh*t to suit your crusade against Benitez. We paid good money for Torres and we got a good player who has made a huge impact. Babel is a prospect, Kuyt is a mishap and Voronin at the moment looks out of his depth. Liverpool to me are like a person who spread bets over good odds rather than someone who lumps all their P on a more secure bet with decent odds.Your mentioning league positions but you seem to be forgetting the last two seasons were we've finished 3rd.Our squad isn't good enough to mount a challenge yet and everyone can see that but you.
