Bristol is sick!Don't outcast yourself, you need to interact with others and expand your horizons somewhat. London peeps have this habit of only interacting with people in their existing circles be it musical, racial or other.Believe me despite the culture shock you will get used to it and learn to like the place. Just don't in with the wrong attitude, be open minded.

it dosent matter that much if u go 2 uni with a closed mindi did and i still graduatednow im doing a law degree toowith a closed mind againalot of people will feel pressured into beg-friending in these type of environmentsyou soon learn that these are the weak people who need the constant assurance and company of others to verify their own livesbe yourself and do your own thing, if you make relationships in the course of doing this then they will be stronger and you will value them more as your life goes onbare in mind why you are there though, and never forget it... you are there to learn and achieve a goal.

where did u go uni?true say u dont need to be on sum low self esteem thing, its nt the end of the world if u dnt find a socially comfortable situation with people...but its worth it to give it a chance to see whats der, rather then shut it out from the begining.if u find ders not much for u (which i doubt) or ur nt fitting in, den ye just do ur own ting and just make of it what u can. no reason why u cant still change n grow without as much social activity, just gotta be open to trying and doing stuff. explore.

Yeah, I ain't got all of it yet either. But I should be ok. I worked out an installment plan with them. Its expensive though. As long as I'm earning around 20 when I qualify I can live with that... I wont be happy but at least with Law you know that you are almost guaranteed to earn more as you progress.Ill be happy to get any work actually considering I havent applied for any training contracts..

Notts, but I'd lived there for a piece before I started Uni so I knew people through family connections, music etc anyway. What it all boils down to is whether or not you are comfortable in your own company or if you crave the closeness of others. I'm happy to jam by myself and also I found that most man at Uni weren't really on levels. Different sense of humour etc.. I did go to a couple student nights but when I saw the kind of stuff them guys were on I made a decision never to become a "Uni Guy" and stuck to it.I was lucky that there were a couple of my closest people from school days living in the Midlands anyway so I was rarely on campus or in Halls unless there was an academic reason.

lol why do u have to call my name.who said anything bout reinventing? or completely changing?its nt about turning losing ur identity, thats low self esteem. its about growing ontop of who u already are, expanding urself.corse uni is about studying mainly, and different ppl view the social aspect differently. ppl who live out and live on campus, its a bigger part of their lives. then theirs other ppl who treat uni like a bad job, and dnt socialise at all cos they dnt think its important. fair enuff, cos different uni's have different degrees of social life to em.u may think ppl who ADAPT or move on from what they were are sell outs, fake, beg friending, etc etc...but like i said, as long as its not completely changing and losing ur identity...them ppl are GURANTEED to have more fun than ppl who remain stuck in their old ways and live the same life they did before uni. ppl i see from my college in uni now, still doing the same sh*t that we did in college, still the same ppl and nt changed at all....they seem to be having about as much fun as we would of in college + living at it, where as the ppl i talk to who moved out of london and went to uni seem like more mature and developed people, they seem to have had a lot more fun and have actually grown as a person from the whole experience with new types of ppl.

ye im pretty much in the same situation, in which im only invovled with uni if its an academic reason. treat it like work rather than uni..my reasons are cos my course and a lot of the other courses kill out social time, but ontop of that the people just seem to do swag things or nt much with the time they have or aren't socially great or much fun. its not that i aint been open minded and got along with lots of different kinds of ppl, cos i got lots of friends in uni but i keep the socialising with em minimal. was only really giving it a try for the first few weeks then once i saw how it was i made my own judgement.for half the first year i was mostly trying student life at other uni's with old mates at surrounding uni's, seeing as mine wasnt saying much, but after a while i found that kind of dead and backwards. rather then not doing much they seemed to just be doing what we was doin in college. just felt stale.then i sort of made my own social life with what ever friends i had who were on more than just the student thing, and thats worked out fine. i made what i could of it, and i definately feel like ive grown as a person. just making my own decisions and nt being tied to friends doin sh*t things, that was great cos it made me able to do things they wouldnt of been on. like u said do your own thing.

all im saying in short is, doing the same things, same routine, same living, etc etc...can get stale, or if it doesnt its nt as insightful as new experiences.be that with or without lots of interaction with new social groups at uni.

Yeah they saying you should apply 2 years in advance MINIMUM. I got 1 family contact who may be able to hook something up for me though, but I'm not holding out on him. Prefer to make it myself then if everything goes wrong I'll ask for help. When do you graduate/qualify? What avenue of law are you looking to persue? I'm thinking contract...
