Ninja Man is now being held in custody.Ninja Man was wanted for questioning about the murder of 20-year-old Ricardo Johnson on Tuesday. The Hunts Bay police conducted an interview on Thursday before MIT detectives met with Ninja Man yesterday.Police reports stated that about 11:15 a.m. on that day, Johnson was sweeping his yard in the company of a friend in the Marl Road area of Kingston when a grey motor car with three men aboard drove up.An argument reportedly developed between one of the men and Johnson's friend before the vehicle left. The car later returned and the occupants opened fire, hitting Johnson, who later died at hospital.
If you've been following the news in Jamaica, you would have heard that this 20 year old yute got muredered in Ninja Man's community. I think this is the second time he's been charged for murder but got off the previous time. I think it was around the time he turned into a Christian. Sorry to hear that a big man like Ninja get caught up in foolishness. Hope he didnt do it and will be freed but do the crime...

Apparently this was in retaliation to them killing Ninja Man's brother a few days before. We had Merciless do a phone interview on On Top yesterday, and he said he's helping in anyway he can to get Ninja freed cos he respects him as one of the most caring men in Dancehall music

Found guilty

Quote

Dancehall artiste Ninja Man and his co-accused have been found guilty of the 2009 murder of Ricardo Johnson, also known as Ricky Trooper.

Ninja Man has also been convicted of shooting with intent.

A seven-member jury comprising four men and three women handed down the verdict in Home Circuit Court in Kingston after three hours and 11 minutes of deliberation.

Ninja Man, whose given name is Desmond Ballentyne, along with his son, Janeil, and Dennis Clayton, were on trial for the 2009 murder of Johnson in the Lower Mall Road community of Kingston.

Ninja Man and his co-accused had been on trial for the five weeks in a hearing that was closed to the public because it is a gun matter.

"A suh it go man," Ninja Man said as he and his co-accused were led away in handcuffs.

As he boarded a police vehicle to be taken to prison, he would make another utterance.

"Don't worry yuhself, Jamaica, I'll be back," Ninja Man said.

He and his co-accused are to be sentenced on December 15.

During the trial, the prosecution called a total of seven witnesses including three civilians.

The case, which was first mentioned in court in 2009, has had 17 missed trial dates and 23 mention dates in eight years.

When it finally got underway in the Home Circuit Court last month, Justice Gayle revoked Ninja Man’s bail and he was taken into custody.

Two weeks later, Ninja Man fell ill and had to be taken to hospital.

He had suffered a mild heart attack.
