learning difficulties is not a disability like mental retardation.people with learning difficulties are not necessarily stupid, have the ability to have common sense and should not be given a pass to do stupid things.
they both mean the same thing

dunno if they are, but to clarify i meant someone who cannot process thought. The point i'm trying to make is having learning difficulties doesn't mean you have no common sense.

Some of you guys do not realise that learning difficulties can mean people that are in essence child minded...
how many children would climb over a fence into a BEAR enclosure?
Seriously?
People with profound and multiple learning disabilities (PMLD) need full-time help with every aspect of their lives - including eating' date=' drinking, washing, dressing and toileting. There are [b']1.5 million people with a learning disability in the UK.[/b] Like all of us, they are individuals who want different things in life and need different levels of support.
It doesn't just mean some dyslexia. My Mum is classed as specialist working with children with learning difficulties, that also ties in with autism, ADHD etc...

Mental Retardation - wiki quote but stillIn the UK, "mental handicap" had become the common medical term, replacing "mental subnormality" in Scotland and "mental deficiency" in England and Wales, until Stephen Dorrell, Secretary of State for Health for the United Kingdom from 1995-7, changed the NHS's designation to "learning disability." The new term is not yet widely understood, and is often taken to refer to problems affecting schoolwork (the American usage), which are known in the UK as "learning difficulties." British social workers may use "learning difficulty" to refer to both people with MR and those with conditions such as dyslexia.

most of that mencap quote about dressing etc is to do with dispraxia, giving them difficulties in performing tasks, rather than making bad decisions.

See, this is the problem with these vague articlesNow we have people arguing the veracity of this 'learning difficulty', is it dyslexia or a strong form of autism?Either way, the bottom line is he's either got mild learning difficulty and is f*ck*ng stupid, has a strong learning difficulty in which case why is he been left to roam a place full of wild animals by himself, and the bear should not have been shot and if it dies that's a travesty.

he should love horses in stead, they dont kill
Really?
Intentionall yeah?Shows what u know about horses
Do you think that bear intentionally killed that person or was only protecting his home?Same way if a horse felt you were a threat to them or there foal, chances are a mare would do the same thing as that bear did, Protecting.
