O Fenomeno
So after a dramatic weekend, the line-up for the 29th edition of the Nations Cup looks like this: Algeria, Angola, Burkina Faso, Cape Verde, DR Congo, Ethiopia, Ghana, Ivory Coast, Mali, Morocco, Niger, Nigeria, Togo, Tunisia and reigning African champions Zambia. South Africa qualify automatically as hosts. So while Cameroonians may well wonder if they have lost their status as an African football powerhouse, the emotions in Cape Verde are running high as the islanders reach their first Nations Cup. A triumphant day for Ethiopia as well as the 1962 African champions qualify for their first tournament in 30 years. Thanks for joining us - see you in January, and until then - good night. 2
